Nice - you watch Flite Test?
Yes, Flite Test is probably what got me started.

A hobby I'm just starting is collecting old consoles and games from my childhood. looking at the prices, i wished i'd never chucked the old ones.

My Dad collects pre-ww2 to cold war German stamps.

I do Geographing (www.geograph.org.uk). One of the aims of this project is to collect photographs representing the geography taken in every square kilometer of the UK. So for a lot of us that means traipsing into parts of the countryside rarely visited for any reason e.g non descript areas of moor, hill, forest or coastline just to be the first person to record a photo from within that square for the project.
It's led to me seeing many more places that I otherwise would and learning a lot along the way.

Not so sure on unusual but I am very passionate about my hobby.

I have always loved RC and when young my dad saved up and brought me a tamiya rc and I just loved building it and customising it.

A few years back I walked into a model shop and saw the Hpi Baja 5B. 5th scale petrol and if you have never seen one they are just under a metre long and weigh in at 15 to 20 kilos and approx speed out of the box 45 mph plus, my kind of RC lol so it was purchased and had loads of fun with friends.

I went to a 5th scale national show in 2011 and had good fun with like minds and also saw what people were doing and just got the bug plus I had my own ideas and style.

Well it all snowballed, as I indulged myself in aftermarket parts and developed my own unique style. I have made so many good friends in this hobby and have really good contacts here and USA where the hobby is huge.

My 5th scale rigs are now regarded as some of the finest and best in the world, they are unique as they are all anodised blue from top to bottom including bits you will never see. I am known for my lighting as well because it adds a different dimension and my airbrushed body shells are just works of art, done by my good friend Mark, very talented man.

The rigs have all the choice aftermarket hop ups, there are parts on my cars that are custom made and also parts that you just cannot buy anymore. It can take me months to collect parts and anything upto a year or two to fully build these.

The engines are blue, the losi short course truck has an OBR 30.5cc full mod with flow system exhaust pipe, that rig is 4wd, good for 50mph plus.

The HPI Baja 5B I have built is 2wd, has a Bartolone Reed engine with machined head in blue and a torpedo side pipe, good for 60-70mph, speeds are dependant on gearing can go higher if correctly geared up and you need the space lol.

I have another debut next year at our largest 5th scale shows another losi 5T 4wd with a 50cc race spec engine with a huge bartolone pipe, sounds just like an angry dirt bike, I have not shown any pics yet anywhere.

I am also going to enter the 5th scale national race series, 4wd buggy and will build a dedicated race rig, no frills but still with my unique style in blue and choice aftermarket parts etc even titanium screws!

Well enough rambling, a pic below and some links to build threads if you fancy a detailed look and my youtube channel is RJJ for some video etc

My collection is known as the " Blue Edition's " smile

Nice 5th scale trucks, I've got 3 myself, 1 fg formula 1 evo in mclaren coulthard colours, an evo race truck in a mclaren paint scheme and a standard truck in a caterpillar bodyshell, all with only 26cc engines for the moment, I'll try and get some decent photos tomorrow in the daylight if you're interested :-)
Ive got an all blue metal traxxas revo that I bulilt up, it was massive fun sourcing the parts but once I built it I darent use it so I then bought a swift 2 and out a massive engine in it that involved cnc milling the chassis to fit hehe

Ive also got a crazy collection of nitro cars which I used to race but they're more of a display set now it used to be fronted by a tenth tech predator x10 but it was sadly stolen, I hope one day someone looks up the serial and contacts me :-(
My body shells for them are works of art done by a tattoo artist who doesn't do them anymore although I don't blame him, he must have done 30 for me!

I do this...

I literally make zero money on it...... Every single time I'm hunched over bags of bits I swear...... "never again". And yet.... I still do it... one more time.....

Announcing and commentating quartermile Drag Racing, a bit rare because we have exactly one proper race per year,

doing smaller airport drag events helps in keeping up who´s racing what as do visits to Santa Pod.

Also build a monkeybike (Honda ST 70) with 10" wheels and about 23 hp from a 175cc engine,

wonder if I will have the guts to open the throttle completely.

And exchange christmas presents with totally random strangers from an addictive website.

The Blacksmiths at Sovereign Hill (living museum in Ballarat) has wine racks like those. IIRC they are AUD 150 so about 75 quid.
At the price of the shoes and powdercoating, they're not worth making to sell at that price.

There's the problem. I've made a few candlesticks and such out of engine parts, and yeah they'd probably sell for 60 or 70 quid, but you end up paying yourself about 2 pounds an hour at that price.

My most unusual hobbies are probably winemaking (from hedgerow berries & flowers etc, rather than kits), and I quite like restoring old machine tools from rusty heaps into shiny working machines. Like this drill, picked up at an antiques fair for 15 quid, rusted solid and wouldn't turn, teeth broken off gears, no handle, etc. Stripped, repaired and painted:

No, I don't know why either smile

If you can find me a dozen of them that are the exact same shape and size, I'll make you one.

If they're not all the same size, it's squint, and it looks awful.
less of an issue if you were a farrier and/or had access to the farriers waste pile. ... that's my point - salvage materials

Golf is my hobby but whenever I play at a different course I aways buy one of the clubs own ball markers for some reason. Probably just to remind me of the nice courses I have played.

Bumpity.

There was a guy on here a couple of months ago who showed a photo of some (finished) customised playstation controllers, with parts of shotgun shells and bullets for buttons/sticks.

Anyone remember where/who it was? Anyone ever done anything similar? I fancy giving it a try but don't know where to start.

Yes, trespass is a civil offence if you haven't broken and entered or intend to steal or carry out any criminal acts once inside
