It's the chapter with the brain probes and red liquid. But the scary parts are the bits where Ruvik appears at random and walks/teleports around, and can one-hit kill. The music is so scary!

I finished this last night. Bonkers! I enjoyed it overall, though it's so nerve wracking and sometimes scary, that it's hard to really really enjoy playing.

Good sense of achievement to finish it on Survival mode though biggrin

I've got Alien Isolation ready to go on Steam, but I think I'll wait a bit before playing another horror game hehe

Is this a good game then? Reviews seem a bit mixed. Might just get Outlast.

It's a bit marmite. IMO you can't say it's crap and leave that as the only comment, as many people have enjoyed playing it. I liked it. It's stressful to play though, so it's not always fun. It kept me entertained though, which is more than can be said for some games. Assassins Creed 3 for instance; I have truly never been more bored whilst sitting in front of a console/PC.

I couldn't say if anyone asking if it's good would enjoy it. It's a genuinely challenging game, and for some people challenging means they don't like it. Usually modern games are made a lot easier to deliver the experience, but TEW has gone a bit old school with the difficulty. The term "Nintendo hard" comes to mind.

Just be warned, one particular magazine summed it by calling it "Trial and Terror". I agree with that; sometimes it is really difficult to understand what the game needs you to do to progress. You die a lot.

At 35 GBP and up I'd personally say leave well alone, but it's a worthwhile punt when it hits half that price. It's not a bad game as such, I still think it is very Resident Evil inspired and it brings with it the good and bad from that series. I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 more than this.

The bosses with their one touch kill cut scenes can be frustrating as it's a matter of working out exactly what you need to do and more or less having to do it perfectly. Also where you restart after those cut scenes can be annoying, with you coming back, having to walk back down a corridor you've now walked down a dozen times and sit through a boss intro cut scene you've sat through the same number of times!

I enjoyed it initially, it was a pleasant alternative to the endless first person shooters, but it felt quite repetitive without being fun enough not to mind. I've no desire to finish it or replay.

I'm still enjoying it, currently halfway through Akumu mode and it is proving to be a b*tch

I posted on this thread on the 23rd of October discussing why I think it's a load of crap.

Oh, fair enough.

Point 1, I agree with you. Both of those "Lisa" boss fights are definitely the points where most peoples' frustrations will come from. The 2nd one sums up perfectly the "trial and terror" comment.

Point 2. It's annoying, but it somehow didn't annoy me that I died 3 or so times there. Terrifying sequence as well. Because it was so scary, it didn't annoy me so much hehe

I'm pretty sure both points 3 and 4 are explained in the game. I'm almost certain.

Just completed this and I enjoyed it but as others have said it can be frustrating at times but stick with it, it's good like the old resident evils

If I like the Resi games do you think it's worth a punt then?

Wonder if I'd like it as much as RE 3, 4 or 5

It's £11.90 on Steam at the moment.

I tried the demo and got cocked off with it after an hour and installed it mind you. It was pretty rubbish.
