Aberdeen - places to eat and drink
Discussion
This is a very good place for beer. Some cracking craft ales there.

Brewdog and Ma Camerons came to mind when I saw thread title - both good suggestions. The bar at the Malmaison is worth a look if you are into whisky, as the range of stuff they have there is enormous.
Other places I would suggest for food are the Mariner Hotel or Silver Darling (seafood), Tropiero in Golden Square (Rodizio), the Ashvale (Fish and chips), and Sam's in King St is a pretty good chinese even if it looks deserted at times. The food at Rishi's in George St (indian) was fairly good, even though the service was especially s**t last time I was there.
Otherwise, the shopping centre at Union Square has all the usual chain stuff..

I believe rodizio is closed. I would prefer the grill for whisky as malmaison service was bad the last few times I went.

As churrasco places places go, they are better when they are busier, I'd assume that branch should still be worth a visit..

Just googled it, and a bit of a shame although it looks like Viva Brazil opened in its place - have been to other branches.

I would assume so. However, I find that these places are quite hit or miss.As churrasco places places go, they are better when they are busier, I'd assume that branch should still be worth a visit..
From recent personal and business experience>
Curry> The Jewel in the Crown on Crown Street.
French> Cafe Montmatre on Justice Mill Lane.
Bar with food> Amicus Apple food and bar is good on Justice Mill Lane.
Chinese/Oriental>The Royal Thai on Crown Terrace.
Steak> Prime Cuts on Crown Terrace.
Personally I go to Number 1 Bar and Restaurant on Queens Terrace most of the time as its good.
All walking distance from your hotel with Number 1 being the longest walk but nothing major.
Union square has the chain places as discussed above but Prezzo has always been good for me. There isn't really a bar/pub in Union Square but just opposite the main entranceis a place called Aitchies which is a superb mans boozer with the barmen wearing aprons etc and exceptionally professional. A great pint in peace!
Enjoy the weather.

Unfortunately, this place has now shut down, otherwise you could have gone there...

Thanks all, back in England now. Thought there were just the 2 of us but ended up being 4 so more difficult to get decision made. Went to Manzils Monday night and the food was terrible - tasted of nothing and the chicken and lamb dishes almost tasted identical. Went to the Wetherspoons (end of Union St) and there was a beer festival on so plenty of ale choices.
Food is fairly good in there also.
