Great footage, love the quality, its hard to find a camera that picks up the sound well. I'm getting a GoPro shortly, i didnt know they did a motoring version...

I picked mine up off fleabay for £107. Its brand new.
As recommended from Matthew Poxon i also bought an Audio-Technica ATR3350 microphone which i simply had hanging out of the boot.
I did have to drill a hole in the waterproof casing of the camera but took care to drill it small then open it out with a file so the mic jack plastic is a tight push fit and hopefully still waterproof enough.

Pinz, not sure what Derek has used, but in my experience, to get the best sound, you need an external microphone (ie plugs into side of camera). Ive bought a £7 "lapel" mic from China on eBay. It works a treat. The only problem with go pro and extremal mics is that you cannot use the fully sealed/water proof housing without cutting a dremal hole in it.

Stupidly I did this with the expensive housing supplied with the camera. What would have been better would have to buy a cheaper "skeleton" housing and to have cut this instead. Hope my mistake help s you guys make a better choice!

Questions:

How did you fix the GOPRO on?

Just used the suction clamp it came with. Stuck to the rear wing.

HRG3 is my race number in NSCC (National Street Racing Championship). I am number 3 because i came 3rd last year.

11.99 is my dial in 1/4 mile time when i race in other bracket race classes at the drag strip. The car has run 10.9 but 11.99 qualifies me to run in Pro-ET with the big boys at York. I only need a little nitrous to run this time and try and stay ahead of them as they catch me at the finish line.

Cheers for that, is the suction that good? Could I stick it to my drinks bar on the back of my loti?
I'd be watching it and waiting for to fall off rather than looking where I'm going

We bought the Go-Pro suction mount that is rated up to 150mph, and it stayed on at 140+ mph! (indicated), up the Dunsfold runway, on the outside of the screen smile The only noise was wind noise, but the footage was very clear and no bouncing around. the only criticism with the mount is it is quite big, but it is adjustable in every way possible.
