Quick update....what a bloody farce! Turns out when the JL
page very clearly says "delivery within 4 days" for this item it's missing the words "plus 7 days lead time" rolleyes so that's 13 days then....oh except the item is actually out of stock until the 27th..well possibly the 27th......

Really surprisingly poor service from John Lewis, I like to buy big appliances from them as their service is usually good.

I haven't had time to go back over the options and I'm waiting
for a call back on whether it is going to be in stock on the 27th...

Seriously tempted by the 200 quid Beko from Appliances Online but I've now got no day to have it delivered until next weekend....

Also got a Bosch, wife says it's okay but because it has a sensor that stops the machine when you clothes are "dry" she says they still feel a little damp after so need to put the machine on for a further 20 mins. I've adjusted the setting to the max with regards to when the sensor decides to stop the machine (i.e. even less moisture in the air) but she says it's still not as dry as she'd like.

Might just be her though, I don't get involved wink

Let them know. They may help. The outlet in Swindon is useful for picking up appliances from them too with great service.

On the flip side, bought our fridge freezer from AO and fabulous service!

I bought my oven from AO and their service was great, you get to choose a delivery day, including weekends standard and then get a text or call with a clearer indication of time - many companies could learn a lot from them.

I've complained to John Lewis, I spoke to a supervisor who said they will ring tomorrow to confirm if it really will be in stock on the 27th. If I continue with the order they will offer me a discount as a gesture of goodwill...

If it wasn't for the additional warranty I'd tell them to take a hike, but I'm now convinced that if I do that, whatever I buy will self destruct on day 367 of my ownership! smile

Could you please let me know how to make that adjustment, might do the same on mine.

If you can get a gas supply into the shed , invest in a White knight gas tumble dryer. Once you have had gas you wont go back to electric drying.

We have just got a heat pump condenser dryer, and it is a fantastic machine.

However, as has been said, the clothes can sometimes feel like they are still damp when its finished, however, once they have cooled down they feel completely dry.

I think with standard dryers, we tend to 'put it on for an hour' and everything comes out bone dry, but after reading several reviews with similar 'damp' issues on various makes, it appears that we were over drying the clothes with the precious machine.

Still, the new dryer is cheap as chips to run, and barely uses 1kw once up and running.
