Just flew over my parents house near Old Warden:

High, straight wing.
Tail dragger.
Twin engines, each mounted on low stub wings.
Main wheels on engine nacelles.

Suggestions?

Nope, that would be a bi-plane with tapered wings.

Bingo! or at least something very similar. Having googled it there seems to be quite a variation in styles of DO 28's. An early one I assume as it seems quite small and less boxy than the later types.

Cheers!

That's also a Do28 - but the original version.

24th September this year. I was up in London to visit the WWI exhibition at the IWM, and then up to the Tower to see the poppies in the moat, before a Virginmarys gig at XOYO in Shoreditch. As I strolled out of Waterloo Station, there was a DH Dragon Rapide doing circuits over central London...

...this is the best I managed on a compact camera between buildings as we walked to the IWM.

Anybody any idea what these are? Spotted them flying over New York last month..

Seemed to be a display, similar to what we see over here with Spits and Hurricanes.
