Well, where to start with this?

A few months after starting this...

...exciting times ahead!
I’m glad to see this project back up and running. Look forward to more progress.

If you’re looking for a body shop, give Kraftwork a look, they’re based in Roxwell. Their work is quite good.

Our next task is finding the right person to carry out the welding repairs. If anyone has any recommendations (I'm based in Essex), I'm all ears.

Thought it was about time I finally resurrected this thread and keep it going.

Long story so I'll keep it short, the car has been virtually untouched in the garage shortly after starting this topic. A few little jobs have been carried out since then, but nothing major.

I'm pleased to say that the car is FINALLY going for welding at the end of February to a lovely classic car restoration company not so far from me.

Over the past few weeks we've been accumulating all of the panels we need, front panel, lower front valance and a ns wing to name a few. One of the highlights was managing to locate a very good used half louvered bonnet which is now on the car.

Have begun stripping the boot, once complete the next job will be to strip the interior.

It's great seeing more tangerine paint as we slowly strip the car.

Over the last few weeks I have been talking to two of the cars previous owners via email and Whatsapp.

One of the owners sent me over some old invoices for work the car had done in the 80's. Lovely to read through them and it's interesting to see the engine had new pistons, rings etc at just over 44,000 miles.

As good as it was being sent over the bills the other owner struck gold when they messaged and told me they think they have the original handbook. A few days later and here it is.

There’s a recent photo of Mike Yarwood enjoying his retirement in the “guess who has aged” thread, lovely car and I look forward to following progress.

I looked up the Eric Morecambe one a couple of years ago as I knew one of the previous owners and would have loved to own the car due to its history (Morecambe even weaved the car into a story about his heart attack!)

Great to see the thread resurrection!

It's amazing how much crap car owners keep - who would have thought a nearly 50 year old handbook would still be around!

Agreed - missed it first time round but will enjoy this one - would love a Jensen Interceptor but shallow pockets for something like this

It's amazing when everything starts to come together after so long.

Sometimes all it needs is a bit of a concerted, focussed effort.

My colleague at work has a Triumph GT6 rotting in a garage, and has been rebuilding his Jowett special since the dawn of time. House moves, kids, family, job changes etc fills the gaps and leaves little time for much else!

Fantastic that it’s an original Tangerine car ! My favourite colour for an Interceptor, but I also love yellow and gold ( Roman Bronze I think it was called.
Do you know if Yarwood special ordered it in Tangerine ?
Very fond memories of watching him on tv as a boy.

I do love the Interceptor. I'm glad you're keeping the tangerine.
