Notice he said "frequently" and not "always"?

The big supermarkets do generally have "one queue" for self serve tills btw
How many self service tills are designed with space to queue up behind an individual one?

I'm with the OP on this. Pick a pump and queue behind it.

I suppose you do the same in banks and post offices then?

One queue of people waiting for a window to be free and you just rock up and stand behind someone at a window?

Same thing isnt it?
I would jump the queue in the Bank if joining it meant standing in the middle of a main road.

Pick a pump and wait.
Really, would you? Or would just come back another time or go elsewhere?
Really I would, I swear, cross my heart and hope to die.

I will take a lie detector test and everything.

And the banks and post offices thing is pointless. They nearly always have a defined queuing system with a marked line, and a cashier notification system to go to the first available window..

Why risk it? Far better to stand in the entrance blocking the entire bank/post office.

I'll always pick a pump and queue directly behind it / in the queue which is for that particular pump. If this means driving around someone who's being a weirdo and waiting for the next available pump in the entire station, then so be it.

I simply drive up to a pump and wait. Whats the point of waiting behind some random stranger if there are in fact spaces to wait bhind a particular pump? Rather odd! Or if there is a line of cars for a 2 pump setup and the pump past the first car is free, (the other pump having paid and driven off) I simply drive up to it (the driver for the first pump is inside paying, shopping etc) after observing if the next available car will go around to the free pump. Often they dont even realise that the pump in front is free due to being on their cell phones, having a conversation etc, just generally not paying attention.

If theres already a queue, join the queue. Dont be a prick and decide your own rules on what that queue should be and drive round everybody.
Nice, I haven't been called a name on the internet for ages. You must have enormous testicles.
But you seem happy to call others names in your original post?
Yep, because they are the ones acting like mongs, not me. You're clutching at straws and this thread hasn't gone well for you. Might be time to pull the pin?

That's even more retarded than queueing to get a pump on the "right" side. Just pull up to any old pump, believe it or not the hose is long enough to go round the otherside! It's like they sit down and think about these things when designing the pumps or something.
I don't see how its retarded. I know the pump is long enough, however i'd have to hold the hose away from the roof of my car whilst I fill up, as I don't want it sat on my paintwork. I drive a Honda Accord estate, so it wont go round my car, it'll have to go over it.

But I guess you're probably one of many who's ability to drive diminishes as soon as reverse is selected. Fortunately for me, I can reverse up to the pump, an fill my car up with no worries at all, no queuing, and no holding the hose.

The first two posters summed it up.

And clearly "winning" on an internet thread means a lot to you.

Jesus Christ, the things that people read into on the internet. It's a nice day, I'm off out for a ride on my bike. I might even do some filtering.

Calm down mate.

Go out for a ride on your bike and cool off.

Make sure you get some petrol in it first...
