Well, I didn't expect an advert for a cosmetic surgery clinic as editorial in The Grauniad vomit .

No flies on Luke either hehe ; I wonder if he eats yellow snow because no-one ever told him that there will be consequences for doing so (or just didn't stop him or even tell him not to) scratchchin .

£1,800 for a 30 minute operation. No anaesthetist involved.
Seems outrageous. I've known of serious operations under full anaesthetic with an overnight stay cost less.

It seems that some people already think the NHS should pay....

Argh this annoys me so much. So what if the NHS pays? We all pay NI, and nearly all of us end up requiring medical treatment based on something that we did to ourselves, whether smoking, drinking (both long term damage or having an accident when drunk). I pay for a millions of people to have babies, I pay for their kids medicine. I don't care, we have an NHS and it is there to use because we pay for it, it is ours. And if someone has a flesh tunnel removed then I'm all for it on the NHS, a. because they look revolting, and secondly if it's for a better job then they'll be feeding back into the system anyway.

What would you rather: a one-off op, or welfare payments for the next 50 years? Ho hum.

On the other hand, I don't understand why this should be a problem for the Professional Golfers’ Association. If I wanted someone to teach me how to hit a small ball with a long stick smile, I'd be concerned with his golf skills rather than his ear furniture.

But he's demonstrated his inability to fully think through the consequences of his actions. I bet Wilkinsons wouldn't employ him! A quick google reveals potential unemployability as just one of many downsides to flesh tunnels.

You can vote for the "let the unemployed starve/freeze/rot to death" party any time they appear then. Fair enough.

How pragmatic would you like to be on this issue?

Maybe more open to ideas than yourself. Self employment for example ?
You seem to be of the opinion his options are limited to just claiming benefit

What's wrong with them paying for the op themselves?
