If there really is a new Spyder in 12 months time I'll be letting mine go next spring.
Still fancy a 4C, but having just taken delivery of a new M3 early indications suggest the Spyder (or a replacement) won't be getting much use.

I'd like to try and off-load it whilst prices are high if and when I let it go.

I don't think it would be one of the same. It's based in Jersey and I've seen it on the roads over the years.

It's 2010, 9500 miles, up for 45k.

However it has been on the forecourt for ages now. Salesman says it won't shift because it is manual.
You're right, that car has been for sale for an age... I went and had a look at it in June but to be honest I thought it looked a bit tatty and uncared for considering the age & mileage.

I'm sure it was only £42k at the time, so there is definitely a deal to be done.

They did have two for a while, both in GT Silver. The other had a slightly higher mileage with a black interior and sold quite quickly to a guy here in Guernsey.

Yeah, the steering wheel in particular was very tatty. Quite why it hasn't been prepped to a better level is beyond me!

It would all clean up, but I was left wondering why it was so mucky in the first place. Couple of scratches on rear bumper from parking also.

A good detail and paint fixes would bring it up nicely. I'd also have sports exhaust high up on the shopping list also.

Jackson's aren't very good at prepping the cars in general. As someone who cares for their car it is very off putting to consider one 2nd hand when it clearly hadn't been loved by the previous owner.

Your point about Jacksons and car prep is so true. I find it almost laughable the premium prices they try and achieve when they don't make any effort to present the cars at their best. Personally I would not buy any car that was obviously not cared for given that if the visible bits are not looked after, the expensive invisible bits probably haven't been either.

I was very tempted to seek out a Spyder such as yours but few are about for sale so settled on the Boxster GTS. Never seen a Spyder in Guernsey except for a black visiting one. Is yours one of the Jersey whites?

We now have a Channel Islands forum on here. Got agreement a few weeks back. Hopefully it will gather momentum with local announcements, sales etc...

That interior would be tough to live with....

Not sure that I could cope getting into that car after a heavy night out...

Friend of mine has this one for sale in Guernsey:

Dear all

Below is a photo album link to my 1977 Porsche 911 3.0 SC Targa that's looking for a new home. It's in excellent condition inside, outside and underneath, regularly maintained, covered only 90K miles in 37 years and looks fantastic!

http://s36.photobucket.com/user/stevepage/library/...

As you can see in the photo's, it has recently been treated to a complete new exhaust/heat exchanger system and new brake discs. The car is running perfectly, is a delight to drive fast or slow and suits the island roads well, being smaller than later 911's and with factory specified tyres that mean the alloys don't get damaged if you have to mount the kerb. The targa top stows in the boot for care free open top motoring and fits back in place with two catches.

This early, low milage 1977 SC Targa is a rare car, with very few of this period appearing in the classified ads

Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested or call or email me if you have and questions.

Given it's condition, it's rarity and the desirability of early air cooled 911's, I'm looking for offers around £27500.

regards

Steve

I'll look out for Channel Islands forum.

I thought one white spyder was taken off to guernsey from Jackson's in 2010. Maybe it didn't stay.

My Spyder is still the only one in Jersey as far as I am aware.

Google; Jackson's Jersey. It should be on their stock list. I'm not sure it comes under a Porsche UK search on their site.

Ha ha ha.. I quite like a red interior with silver exterior.

It has a fair bit of extra leather optioned also just to overdose on the red! It could be toned down with grey/black mats (a little).

Not everyone's taste, but it would be boring if every interior was just black.

Anyway, I think I'm over this particular targa idea.

Whilst I agree there's nothing wrong with a bit of interior colour (in fact I'll always endorse a coloured console) it's a shame Porsche always go OTT on the colour.

Could take a leaf out of BMW's book and just do the seats, door cards.

Was in Jersey today so dropped into Jacksons. Saw said Porsche. Leather not too bad but what happened to the inside door handles? Yup, would too 'weathered for me too''. BMW i8 was cool looking I must say.
