Aha. Was it an option to weld the steels together and forego the post? Or is the post a design feature?

I thought the same. Are you/your wife not bothered?

Won't the fibres be floating about for ages?

How about - hold your breath and open all the doors for bit?

There was only one comment about asbestos and the reply was that it was sand and cement.

The reply was that there was asbestos in the ceiling:

I encounter Asbestos daily at work, and pay people small fortunes to remove it. I also know the precautions involved when working near or with etc etc, got cerstificates an everyfin.

The harbingers of doom would tell you I should be dead, and glowing in a coffin. There's worse fibres in the air...

Thakm you for confirming what I already thought. I get rather tired of the 'OMG asbestos you're all going to die' crowd.

Next week - food one day past its sell-by date. Oh, and bird flu.

You can't blame people, it's only lack of understanding. We've all sucked in a bit of azzy if we're over 40 at some point in our lives.

My attitude is I'm here for a good time, not a long time, and when they cremate me, there will be a pair of unburnt lungs left in the oven biggrin

Few screw heads and skirting to paint, then onto the cream for the upper units. Glazed doors took almost 2 days of my life furious
