The forecast said it definitely, positively, absolutely, without doubt isn't going to rain today, so I got it out, possibly for the last time this year. it was a great drive to work this morning



And it still says no rain

Then again, mine is so dirty at the moment, I don't really care if it does

I did the same, it looked dry so chanced it - some very dubious looking clouds over Poole at the moment though

As a matter of interest if you drive around in the wet does the engine bay get soaked? Adrian W you seem to be the acknowledged authority on such matters! Chris.

Problem there is mine is allergic to rain, so I wouldn't know.

Seriously, they aren't to bad, they tend to get more water in the engine bay from the clam vents when the car is stationary, of course if you are brave enough to go out in a torrential downpour it will end up everywhere.

A couple of years ago I got caught out in heavy rain and the wettest part of my car was the bottom of my trouser legs.

I've driven it in all weather as it was my daily runner... even had to dig the road of snow for 200meters to get out one year... worst rain I ever drove in I was unable to go over 50mph as the car was aquaplaning constantly on the a12, it was also my trowsers that got wet as rain came in through the steering coloumn area.... never happened in any other rain and car was always dry inside, engine was always fine.

The tyres I run over last 4 years are the limiting factor in rain, I remember comuting in it to west London a few years back during winter and it had 600bhp (I never run low boost)... it was still a pleasure, just couldn't use much throttle lol.

I've owned my noble for over 6 years and live a matter of miles from Adrian, however Ive only seen it out twice hence its always a major occasion requiring proper photographic documentation when he takes it out

Used to and still do drive mine in all types of weather. Only ever had the floor area wet until I did the floor reseal.

Just worked out I have done 5500 miles in mine since May when I first had it running, it's been a joy, rain or shine, the only place that gets wet is the passenger side footwell, straight through the electrical circuits, relays and fuses....keeping it clean is interesting after some crappy weather though....

So - using them in the winter/rain is not so detrimental....... had it in mind to keep it garaged now until the spring but might just throw caution to the wind (talking of which it is a gale force outside right now).
