Not too much that I can think of. I always had problems with both front parking lights on mine that never got resolved, despite it going into a couple of different dealers. Bulbs would melt their holders
Other than that, check that the boot opens fully of its own accord, otherwise it will probably need new gas struts. And rear springs, they eat them for breakfast, but I think that's the case with a lot of E46s

Just make sure you get the right gas struts if you've got the Storage Compartment Package ( S493a ) - they're a lot more than standard ones ( which most of the non OE ones on EBay are )Other than that, check that the boot opens fully of its own accord, otherwise it will probably need new gas struts. Only important if you want the remote key fob facility to work correctly though (150 notes rather than 40 ) - even new ones appear 'lazy' in subzero temps
Echo the rear wiper motor comment from Mark as well - worth checking as most second hand have started to corrode inside and new they are expensive. You can repair them if you're DIY handy though
