Hi Guys, the leccy aerial on my 350 has ceased to function (it wont go up when turning on the radio),does anyone know if its a specific type i.e. ford etc., or just an off the shelf jobby that I can purchase from howlfrauds or similar?

I replaced the one on my 400 with one from the Bay of Es.

£20 or so. Sorted.

Thanks for that, was it a load of faffing about to get the aerial cable through the car back to the radio?

I did this years ago and only cost me £15 for the aerial and I then waited till I replaced the carpets before installing the aerial and it took about 10 minutes to do so its easy really. My aerial has now failed so will have to go through it again.

The really early electric aerials had a dash switch top lift and lower, then the car audio industry standardised with a switched output from the radio itself; I'm sure the switch blank fitted to some early Tasmin DHCs was originally for the electric aerial switch (the FHC of course used the rear screen heater element as the aerial)...

I was fed up with catching my aerial in the spoiler, so Ive fitted an amplified aerial stuck under the dash to the heater blower box. great signal reception and everything is out of the way. Just have to fill and spray the hole in the rear wing !

My electric aerial has a plug/socket on it so if it dies I don't need to replace the cable all the way back to the radio. It looks old and original, but doubt it is.
