Thanks for the input so far guys very useful so keep it coming.

I really do want a lairy colour such as orange or the bright green (isotope?)

There was a private sale green one on here last week that disappeared which I really liked the look of.

I went from a bright orange Cerb to an Exige, & only Isotope would do. I've had it over 3 years now & it's epic. I put a black tri-stripe over mine to finish it off - I've always done subtle wink

Superb cars though - a proper mini exotic & stands out everywhere.

Still makes me feel very special every time I turn the key.

Keep looking for the Isotope cars, they do pop up every few months, & well worth the wait. Good luck.

As an ex-cerb owner myself, I would say you have fine taste (mine is an isotope 240PP).
Sadly mine might be up for sale in the spring after 3 1/2 years as I might need some more space. It's the longest I've ever kept a car.

Pm me details if you like, might be suitable

Thought I'd jump on this topic, found it on Google!

I'm looking at an Exige as a wild swing followup from a 2004 Corvette C5 (previous PH Carpool) which I've now had ~13 months.

Keen on an S220, have yet to drive an N/A 190 - hoping to do so toward the end of this week. Budget is lower than in this thread, sub-£20k realistically. Suspect I will struggle to find an S220 for that but remaining hopeful! Have already discovered a number of good places to look when it comes to buying an Exige...

Comments + ideas appreciated!

He's not an official dealer but I have only heard very good things about Will Blackham.
Tell him what you are looking for. He sees a lot of volume.
You might get a 60k+ mileage S220 privately around £20k but it will be a question of time waiting IMHO.

Will is a genuine enthusiast and a regular on SELOC etc, I've never purchased from him, but have briefly crossed paths a couple of times, genuine guy, and well known on the scene.

I've actually made an initial contact with him but don't want to waste his time until the Corvette is gone and the money is literally waiting to be spent.

Pleasing to hear there's some probability of an S for 20Ks. I'm hoping to drive an NA shortly and if that car offers everything I need in terms of the Exige experience then I'll happily settle for an NA for now at least. The supercharger appeals a lot though. I fear that whilst I'll always lose straight line grunt following an LS1, the NA might just be too far to fall in that one regard. Time and test drives will tell.

I came from a background of TVRs and whilst I was initially very happy with the S1 160 and S2 111S that immediately followed, I did tire of the lack of straight line after a short while. In contrast, the 250bhp Exige has kept me happy in terms of both straight line and handling experience for over 3 years and still excites me in every respect.

Given the fairly small price difference between the two I would stretch to an S every time, even if it means holding off the purchase for a short period.

Many folk will argue a 160 - 190 bhp Elise/Exige is enough. However, I do wonder how many of the same folk have had V8 straight line toys in the past. Yes, the Loti are about the sublime handling and usability of the power band, but I felt I was kept wanting in straight line power and although a far more fun car all round, the lower power cars made me have occasions where I missed the old power monsters I had. With 250bhp+ I don't miss them in the straight lines and I get to enjoy that much extra in the bends to boot. Win/win.

Finally drove my first NA Exige yesterday. Absolutely thrilling experience.

It's now a case of selling the Vette to fund an Exige I think!
