I'm about to start on the rear end, am I correct in thinking that the output shaft seals are the later model XJ6 type that can be replaced with replacing the complete bearing carrier link

Talking of xjs's I saw an article explaining how to get 43mpg out of one....

Some of the principles could be applied to the Wedge. Probably better to start a new topic though....

Not unless your diff is a lot later than the one fitted to most wedges!
Try the XJ6 Series 2, the seal you've linked to looks nothing like the ones I changed (and it means a full stripdown of each output 'stub' axle to swap them).

Pah, easy:

"Offered is a rebuild kit for the differential following models :

XJ6 Series 2-3 Year 05.1976 - . 1,987
XJ12 1973-1992
XJS 1976 - 1992
TVR 400
TVR 350

Is included in the set :

1x shaft seal differential input
2x shaft seal differential side
1x seal differential housing
2x O - ring side Simmeringgehäuse

The seals are from current production , ie it is not a displaced old stock ! The seals for the early XJ6 see our other offerings .

If you have any questions , please feel free to contact us directly !

When buying multiple items , we will send all in one package to keep shipping costs as low as possible !"

Simmeringgehäuse... that's confused it! But the output shaft bearing housings have an O-ring each so it looks right to me smile

I reckon this kit is the same bits, probably not worth the grief of going overseas when you look at the price:

Cheers Ian,

Missed that listing !

I'd also stuck it into google translate, I use it a lot to find out what our customers are saying before the local offices translate only half the details !
