Not me, however my youngest has, she lives in the same town as us, is the same age, has the same unusual first name; Saskia, and same surname.
One of our neighbours is called Saskia, the only one I've met' lovely name smile
Thank you.

Not many about, I worked with a guy who's daughter had the same name but apart from her and this girl that my daughter knows; whom I've not met, I haven't encountered any others with the same name.

I went to school with a lad who had the same name as me, my old dear ended employing the guy and would often call me and ask work related stuff.

Not the sharpest tool in the box... Haha

Turns out there is a chap that works for IBM with the same name as me, we were working close with the company and they had a team set up in our building. They emailed me inviting me to a meeting regarding the finance system. Although I work in Finance I thought it was a little odd to request me as I am not that high up.

Turns out they wanted the other chap that works for IBM still it gave them all a good chuckle.

Never met anyone with the same surname as me, I also know for a fact that I am the only person in the whole of the British MOD with my surname!

I got 5 friend requests on FB from guys with the same name as me. They had started chatting and looked me up too. We chat and share jokes but have never met. It's quite weird when you see your own name on your FB timeline and think "where was I? What was I doing?"

I have a similar thought when I see my name...but it's not me.

Years ago I looked up my name on Facebook and was fairly sure that I wouldn't find another one of me..but I did! So I sent a short message saying "I thought I was the only S****** M***** in the world." I got a similar message back and also a friend invite.

It was then that I looked at his profile and realised that I had been chatting to a 12 year old boy.

I don't really use Facebook anymore, but I'm sure he's a bit more grown up now. laugh

Far too many people with my name. one is a well known musician with a band that was huge in the 1980s. He went to the same school as me although a couple of years later. Some confusion has arisen from this.

I arrested my namesake for drink driving many years ago.

Who'd have thought there were two people in the same town called Reginald Urinaryinfection Local?

No. Google doesn't know about him, but he's worked in the same (large) building as me. He does something to do with fire safety, I've occasionally had people asking if I can help anyway. I can't.

The Mrs is constantly getting friendly emails from people show doesn't know. She shares the exact same "use" name as another lady in her company...

I've never met any of my namesakes. Looking them up on the internet, though, is hilarious:

No 1: Realtors. (US Estate Agents). Several of them. Ah well. At least there's
Science Fiction author
Country and Western Singer
Prof of Archaeology

There's probably enough of us for a convention.

Just remembered another one, I once received an incorrectly addressed email for my namesake talking about the arrangements for the weekend where two couples were visiting a caravan together for a weekend of 'wife swapping' yikes

Friend of mine, Billl Robinson, came over from the states for a job offshore Aberdeen, he had a contact name up here.

He called and spoke to the contact, who seem very very friendly, on the lines of "Hello Bill, get yourself up,to Aberdeen, I will book you into the Imperial hotel, come in tomorrow and we will talk".

Well Bill, was well impressed, thought this guy was really nice.

He checked into the hotel, (all paid for), and went into the office and and for the guy he had come to see. When he was waiting a guy came out, looked around, saw Bill, then asked the reception where Bill was.

Turns out there were two Bill Robinsone, both sounded like each other, both were American divers. Anyway they got on like a house on fire and a firm friendship was formed.

A maintenance engineer that works in some of the units I manage has the same name as me. As my role involves working in various different units across the south as does his he once got called in by his boss accused of signing off his own jobs.

Probably met 5 different namesakes in my lifetime but but my surname is in top 5 most common. For first time ever (and only two weeks back) I met the namesake for my sister who passed a way when I was a child. That made me stop and think.

Never met, only digitally.

My email is of the format myname@email.com, and it turns out that a guy with the exact same name as me decided to use mynam@email.com (a letter taken off the surname). For a while I kept getting random emails about business deals, social conversations and pictures of people I'd never met before in my life.

It all came to light when I got en email from "myself" explaining that he had booked a flight and was waiting at the airport trying to find his booking details in his inbox, and whether I had accidentally been sent them. Lo and behold, there they were in my junk folder. Think he managed to catch it on time smile I don't have a common name and it turns out he also lives in London.
