I did say it was going to auction last week just got the wrong auction house the Taimar SE Turbo Conversion is as well i think but maybe Historics November sales the one thats been at Fernhurst when that 3000s was for sale on e bay and the dealer let it go at 14k on a commission sale for the owner i said i felt he had undersold it by a couple of thousand if it had been originally placed with either one of the TVR Dealers ie Fernhurst or Hexam DG or Rooney at 17k and taken say 16 it would have sold and the dealer would not have had so much tied up sitting there

thanks i didn't realise. It seemed strange that in one place the red 3000s was £24000 "halo" on reg plate and a different advert £17 or £18000. Therefore difference of £7000 which to me is a lot. I'm sure it was the same car with the same wrinkles/creases in the driver's seat. With a few things sorted out maybe it could be as nice as your red 3000s

I guess if you fitted a new chassis and a new fuel tank fuel lines brake lines servo new suspension and rebuilt and uprated the engine new windscreen frame then Maybe but in doing all that you would find a lot more to do as your finding once you start you cant stop the best 3000 S that's out there not advertised is Steves nearly finished restored car the sum of the parts exceed what its worth but sadly most won't value it the way they should

Well it went up to £12750 before buyers premium so £14000 however he wanted £14000 hammer price so with the 5% sellers premium he would have been £500 at a loss as he paid £14000 of e bay Dave
However several potential purchasers turned up on monday to view the car and it was not there as the seller drove the car down yesterday from Shewsbury for the Auction which was a shame
So if your fast and you want one and call and offer £13500 he may snatch your hand off these dealers that really dont know the Marque really should leave it to the dealers that do

I am sure you right that car for an un restored example is a very good buy and i suspect those that have bought recently including yourself may be wishing they had waited as he was confident enough to drive it to and from the auction.Of the 256 cars made i know of 6 that have changed hands at least this year with at least 7 available at the moment if you include the silver and red one here the silver and blue ones in the USA and the silver Turbo Conversion and the Blue one on the French TVRCC site for sale in Antwerp Belgium plus the red M conversion one that would make it 8 if you count that one ranging in price from i guess that one being the lowest to the SE conversion to over 30k

Slightly off topic, but the new December issue of "Classic Car Mart" magazine has an article about "Forgotten roadsters" and includes a whole page about the 3000S. It gives a base price of £10k for one, so maybe now the whole world will wake up to these wonderful cars...

just watching Chasing Classic cars with the Ferrari NART Spider on and i had never seen one but wow the 3000s does really have the look if not the engine in a way i prefer the sound of the TVR but hey for 3000S money its hard to find a car that is as good looking sounds so good handles as good and gives both you and your Bank Manger a Big Smile

Shame they forgot to make the doors properly so you can have proper elbows out Roadster motoring and at $25 000 0000 there is a little bit of a price difference however wish i had bought one for what they where sold for when new 
i could sell it then buy a large warehouse and fill it with every pre 80s car i could find and change my name to Klaus MK2A
