Hi i've had my R8 for a few months now and thought i'd join up. I'm wanting to put some of the bathurst side strips on the side of mine and also the R8 sticker instead of the VXR8 sticker. Where can i get these from ? Also where can you buy the optional 20" rims from without tyres? How much are they ? One more question, the wheels seem to look too far inwards if you get me. Can i put spacers on? Has any one done this ? Thanks for your help!

Strips are on ebay and decent quality.

20" rare as hens teeth second hand. Walkinshaw sell them new but they are mega money!

As for spacers, I am the only one to put spacers on a VXR8 that I know off. Hubcentric 20mm bolt on the front and 15mm hubcentric bolt on the rear. I run 20" rims with this and the wheels fill the arches much better although you will need to roll the rear arches flat to get enough clearence! Note with bolt ons you will need to trim off the end of the oem studs as there is a 7mm long unthreaded tip which will foul the wheel pocket if left on.

Pictures tonight when I get home if you want or search my posts.

Rog.

Yeah pics please. What size spacers could I go with on standard 19" without rolling the arches?

I would roll the arches but Never had it done before. Does it crack the paint? Cause any problems

About 5mm as the rear lips huge!

The trouble you will have is 15mm is the thinest spacer you can fit as a bolt on and 5mm is about the max you can use with a pure spacer as the studs are not long enough and you lose the hud locating ability.

Watch this space as I really want 345 rear tyres and may throw caution to the wind and do an Arnie to the backend. smile

Sorry for being thick but I don't understand. CAn you not just use longer bolts? So these I can put on the rears is 5mm? What about the front? The fronts are hideous, the wheels are really lost under the arches

I don't want the Bathurst stripes. I've seen a few r8's with just the one solid stripe down the side, that's what I'm after

the Bathurst stripes on ebay look so crap! I had a set and ended up ripping them of after a few months. my mate is a sing writer and made me a new set from scratch, fit is perfect and size is spot on.
