A Jag Xj 3.2 v8

Bot cars are getting aftermarket stereo systems that will be something special
What sort of stereos are you going for? Odd choices to upgrade though as both have built in stereos. How will you get round that? I have the upgraded stereo in my XJ (not sure what the official name for it is). It's pretty neat with the tweeters in the pillars. It's pretty good.
To be honest they are going to be chalk and cheese, the Jag is going to have what is called an SQ system in it. I have a facia adapter so i can fit a normal headunit to the Jag, the doors are going to have a nice set of ultra high end SQ speakers in them, I will be building doorcards so i can position the speakers for the best SQ as the OEM locations are good but can be better

In the boot i will have the speakers passive crossovers, a digital equaliser and two amps

These will be built into a false floor so the boot is fully usable but can be showy when i want it.

As the boot on the Jag is sealed from the cabin i will be putting the subwwoofer in the front footwell

Should be classy and understated

In regards to the Volvo as this was my old daily driver
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJg0Qeethlw

that had doors like this

Those are 10 inch drivers in the door

The volvo will be slightly OTT as well, at least one 10 per door/2 depending on space, 11 batteries in the boot, full range drivers on the apillars and a big box where the rear seat is holding 4 15inch subs. Amp wise the volvo will have lots of power

I particularly like the sound of what is going on with the Jaguar though I daresay I'm happy enough with the stereo in it now. All I really listen to in the car is Radio 4 though, my days having a shiny Alpine headunit in a Japanese Import listening to Depeche Mode have sort of came and went.

What is the story with the girls at the show? Jaguar day? Are they big fans of the Coventry V8 or did you bung them a tenner to pose for a few pics?

Im friends with a local car audio shop, the Jag was on the stand at a show as a work in progress as it will be a demo car for them when done. The lasses were there as demo girls for the shop so were posing with all the cars on the stand - was a giggle

Only a little bitter? I must try harder then!

You've seen right through me, I so desperately want to finance a Golf that my vitriolic nature towards PH is impossible to mask smile

So why read it then you cry? For fun of course! Sorry if I touched a nerve at all, if it's any consolation my Dad was German and I liked him thumbup And gherkins and bratwurst and their national anthem too!
It would be a lot easier to believe you if your dream garage didn't say C63 hahaha!

By the way you replied it sounds like you're the one crying?
I bloomin love PH.

Can't believe you had the audacity to call someone out on their rental car Mr HSV.

Practical car. I managed to squeeze two friends and shopping for 20 for a stag weekend. The chap in front is 6'6 and the one behind is 6'4!

Is it so hard to believe I'd love a car with a 6.2litre V8 and RWD? You must forgive me for being so generic with my labelling of 'German' stuff, to be more specific, I'm not generally a fan of Audis, VWs, BMWs or Porsches. There are exceptions, B5/7 RS4s, E39 M5, 840, 2002, Z3 M Coupe, 959, Carrera GT and whilst not really a fan of anywhere they've put it, I do like the VR6 motor as it sounds fantastic.

I also have a soft spot in particular for large engined AMG Mercs. I hope that helps clear up my annoying opinion. My use of the word cry was because I (mistakenly) assumed you may be feeling exasperated as to why I'm posting on a forum that I profess to not be a big fan of, so just wanted to clear that up for your benefit. Clearly I didn't need to though smile

I shall wipe these tears away and try to move on beer

Lovely car, the Busso V6 is a wonderful lump thumbup Have you tinkered with the exhaust at all? The GTV at least was insultingly quiet originally.

Hey James,

Most kind sir smile. Sadly I do not have an awesome action pic like yours. I always take a look out for your car when I'm walking past and see it in its glory!
Well I have a camera if the mood takes you hehe

It's 150 miles into a brand new engine at the moment, but after the thousand mile running in period and a remap, I'll be looking for mid 400s with it's current turbo setup.
