(Mods, please don't move this to some obscure location, gets annoying when that happens)

Anyone notice with the tons of channels we get so many repeats, why, if there is so much content, why is this happening? Surely enough new material...

Don't bother much with SKY etc anymore.
Netflix and get into a long TV series.

These channels don't produce their own content they buy existing content and repeat them on their channel

There's nowhere near enough programming. Even the rolling news repeats 95% of its content.

I like repeats - for me they represent a great improvement over the new programmes, most of which are total st.

Same quantity of content, More channels to fill. I watch hardly any of the channels on cable -good things on BBC Iplayer, 4OD or Netflix a couple of times a week.

24hr rolling news is pointless - there is not changing enough useful content to justify its endless repetition and vacuous non-analysis and standing outside. internet news pages are available 24 hrs a day.

Not enough new material for the amount of channels. For the new kids on the block, (generally speaking) the older the prog, the cheaper it'll be.

There is not an infinite number of programme makers out there.

I would say that 90% of broadcast TV these days when spread across all the satellite and cable channels consist of programmes that have been shown at least once before (on many occasions, lots of times before).

I'm not sure what channels everybody's watching ?

I can only get channels (bbc excepted ) full of adverts interrupted by a program now and then.

As Bruce Springsteen sang 57 channels and nothing on, sadly there are a lot more channels than that now. There are some very high quality programmes but 24 hour tv ends up being 95% mediocre or poor.
