In fact, you may be allready too late...regarding the prices of classic Ferraris I, and not alone I, wonder if maybe the top is nearly in sight, and maybe there can even come a slight correction downwards. The 308 Vetro is allready more dan doubled in just a year or so. Somewhere it ends.

But: when Enzo died, there was this same movement in prices, friend of mine saw two biddings on their vetro at that time of 250.000 hfl, about 112.000 euros
They did not sell, liked the car and dit not buy it to make money but to have fun with it, car sold number of years ago for 45000 euro, would now fetch in the state it was when sold around 110-115 again I think... Investement...naah no not really, unless you buy low (that passed..) and sell high (which may be now the right time..? or may be a few years and another 50k away). Gamble ? yes for sure.
Remember manu people lost lots of money on supercars in het 90`s, when a buyers contract sometimes was allready worth more than the list price was.
Cars were put away, not everytime looked after properly in that time (storing a car in a good way costs money too...) and many were sold with big losses.

Buy Ferraris to enjoy them, please.

Agreed ThevanV, I actually think there is a good chance of a pullback, and if so the top is definitely missed by a few months. Crash won't(!) happen as money is still plentiful and cheap.

I should've omitted investment in the title.

£200k to spend ?
Buy x10 308/328 GTS/GTBs.....oops sorry thought it was four years ago! Yep four short years you would have easily collected x10 of the above, I looked at a number of 308s below £20k. Isn't it crazy, £200k will get you x3 now. Now where did I put that crystal ball with the murky picture of x2 testarossa's hidden within.......?

Get him to stretch his budget a bit to an XJ220 then give me a call cos I've always fancied a go in one :-)

Or a different kind of Stradale:

Ferrari 250 GTE. Still under £200k but it's a V12 and I can't see them dipping ever again.

I've just got planning approval to build my 2nd garage block. Work starts in the new year.

I've got a budget to buy cars to fill it.

I've just clicked on that. Reading it gave me genuine tingles. That, or something very like that, is simply going to have to take up one of the bays in the new garage, even if it means what fills the other bays isnt quite as nice as it could have been.

Epic. Just imagine punting down a country road, in Spring, in that, V12 burbling away. If anyone ever asked the question, "Why are we here?" the surely the answer is, "To drive cars like that".

I figured it would exceed estimate. I was tempted, but am concerned about those stories of Ferrari looking to crack down on replicas and what they could legally do when they find one...

There's an awful lot of choice within the budget, for here's what I'm feeling this morning:

If you want fun from a 'modern' Ferrari, go for a 430 Scuderia.

If you want fun from an older car, go for a F512 M.

If you want fun and a lot of money left over for fuel and tyres, go for a 575 HGTC with a manual gearbox.

If you want a serious investment, find a 250 GTE that needs resto (and prob LHD). You'll probably need to spend £200k-230k.

All the talk about the new 488GTB will be about how its Turbo V8 sounds... there will be alot of discussion in the forums and press about that true Ferrari F1 scream that is likely lost forever due to EU legislation. The discussion will end up with the best sounding Ferraris of all time, and near the top of the list, if not at the top will be the very special, rarer than an F40, Challenge Stradale... Buy & hold, I think it will be the next Carrera RS.
