Hi all,

I've decided the time has come to go racing, and it has to be TVR's. Currently on the hunt for a Chimaera to prepare, the ropier the better (so long as the core of the chassis is ok). If anyone has any leads let me know. Doesn't have to be roadworthy.

There's a nice big space in my garage waiting to be filled! But if I can't find something soon I'll miss the start of the season.

Its frustrating that TVR write offs don't seem to end up anywhere else.

In fairness, the OP on that thread never came back with a response on the outcome. The French lad came as good as saying driver error caused the crash.

For a lot of trader bashing, you have to admit there is scant evidence to support it in a newcomers view...

Normally yes, but I've never heard anything positive about them and numerous stories with reasons why I wouldn't like to deal with them. Not just keyboard warriors either...

Call off the search! I've just got it - drove 150 miles in it today and loved every moment.

Work starts on saturday wink

If anyone wants any roof or interior bits, fuel tank, pas system (pump, rack and pipework), a set of wheels with what looks like new tyres- let me know...

What do you want for the rack?

Ill get back to you, the whole kit or just the rack?

I'm not sure if I want to keep it now.

Would there be a non-pas rack in exchange? :P

No exchange as I have PAS, but was considering a spare and getting it refurbished. Have been contemplating an Engineer1949 rack too, for when the inevitable happens.

Overdriveeng,

I did post up a fairly detailed finding on the car, unfortunately the post was deleted by admin.

In short the car is neigh on perfect, even down to the outriggers. Absolutely everything works, apart from the oil pressure gauge, but Glen is sending me a replacement.

I am going to prepare a new owner post, but I haven't cleaned the car and been able to take any photos as yet.

For what it's worth, I'm glad I'd ignored the bad press and hype and went with my gut instinct, because as a result I've ended up with a peach of a car. I have been very lucky, but it was a risk I was happy to take, and it's more than paid off.

Great news, I'd be interested in the roof. I want to cut one in half!

In fairness, deletion of the post also removed the posts of people (one of which is me) who have traded happily with the seller (admittedly just for parts not a car) in question.

I do agree that it is frustrating that there are a few breakers that are cornering the market and thus inflating parts prices.
