Always thought the current Exige is one of the best looking Lotuses ever. Was that one of Coco's?
can you not see a bit of california in there? I though as soon as the s3 elise pictures got released that the front was veryyyy similar to the california and I didn't know who designed it (honest :P)LotusEspritTurbo said:

I wish Lotus would build something hairy chested, properly fast, actually desirable, and a decent size.
That would be the Esprit then. But Lotus have announced they've scrapped the development and there won't be one.The new CEO has no choice but to rationalise things and stabilise the business before Lotus's owners consider loosening the purse strings. I sure hope they do.
The Elise is the bread and butter of Lotus, ergonomically a fantastic car but it needed the facelift back in 2010 (or whenever it was done) but the facelift is weak. Restyle the Elise first, make it more masculine then think about something more super.
The Evora is a dead weight, its going to be dropped form the US market soon. It looks bland and doesnt have the performance. I would want a complete Evora replacement, much more striking to look at, lighter and quicker.

Only for a few months. The 2015MY addresses this issue along with some styling changes inside and out and will be revealed early next year before deliveries start mid/late autumn.
In the meantime the USA dealers still have access to plenty of landed stock.

Let's hope he can design a car, at a price point that SELLS.
No point making pretty, fast cars if they cost too much money and no-one buys them...
That's a very good point they need to get there prices right ,make money but make product look value a bit of a balancing act for a small volume player. No point making pretty, fast cars if they cost too much money and no-one buys them...
The Bahar-era cars to me looked like generic modern sports/supercars with Lotus badges stuck on, completely lacking in identity, and could easily have been knock off Ferrari / Porsche / Lambo / Pagani designs made for a new Grand Theft Auto video game.
The Evora at least has Lotus looks about it, and despite some awkward lines, has good road presence and looks pretty special.
I think the Elise is stuck in looking-like-an-Elise mode due to the chassis, wheelbase, engine location etc remaining the same - they aren't exactly large cars either, but without input from another car company financially, I doubt we'll be seeing anything all that new from Lotus for a while, but that's nothing new if you look at the last 20 years.

Yeah, old phrase, but it is defo a car that looks much, much better in the GRP. Mr. Carr is going to do just fine IMO. Didn't he style the S2 Elise as well? That thing is going to turn *15* next yeat. Still looking very fresh IMVHO. Ah, so now they can return to their comfort zone of throwing together under-developed and cramped toy cars, hoping that nobody will notice how the umpteenth derivative of the same old theme is really nothing new and long overdue for replacement.
He may have ruffled lots of feathers but I think Bahar’s vision and ambition was much closer to Chapman’s than anyone there cares to admit.
Not that I have a view on it…

Not technically true. There will be no more exemptions for the current spec airbags and as such no further current spec cars will be imported.
