Online Share Trading Providers

Recently decided to extract myself from some longer term buys in my share trading account and being honest, it's the first time I've looked at it in any detail in a good 2-3 years.

What started as a Hoodless Brennan account has gradually morphed in to a TD Direct Investing account.

No management fee and £8 a trade (plus stamp if applicable), have in the same process morphed in to £15/qtr management fee and £12.50 per trade (plus stamp).

So are there any recommendations for other providers or are the costs above now just the state of the market these days?

I use iWeb. Seems ok.

How often do you make trades, and what kind of transaction value are we talking?

I ask because I know of a few (I use The Share Centre) but it depends very much on your usage.

For instance mine costs maybe £120 a year but the trades are under £6 a pop.
