After some open and honest discussions (about cost) with Silverstone Track Day sales office, see below the best deal available. The latest March date available was the 10th, its a Tuesday:

  • **************************************************************************************************************
Dear Bob

I have spoken to our Legal Director and he is happy for us to provide the sign on service which includes a Coordinator for the briefing on the day within the £430 inc vat per head price for a guaranteed 35 cars.

We do need to guarantee a one off non-refundable total payment of £15,050.00 inc vat for the event to go ahead, to be paid in full by the end of November 2014.

Please note that all participants are driving on track at their own risk and will require to produce a full DVLA road licence and be over 18 years of age. All drivers will be required to sign a Silverstone Track Indemnity and have to submit their contact details to Silverstone so that we can send our Track Day Terms and conditions to them in advance for them to agree.

Maximum noise limit on the day is 102dB drive by. Track time – 09:00hrs to 17:00 hrs (subject to daylight hours and stoppages) – mandatory one hour break for lunch.

We do have a Media Café overlooking the track that can serve breakfast and lunch for your members to purchase – a fuel station is also on site.
Silverstone International Circuit Map: Based from the Formula One Pit and Paddock - 1 garage block will be made available - plenty of room for 35 cars.

430 per car for a total of 35 cars on track max at any one time (which potentially with split sessions as nobody will want to be on track for more than half the total time means 17/18 cars max at any one time) is actually pretty reasonable by current market rates, especially for a circuit like silverstone

the price is per car, not per person

just my humble opinion of course

In my opinion; As long as we have 35 cars paid for, after that its a matter for the owner if he has a passenger co driver or not, as long as that co driver has the proper insurance cover and signs in as such.

This may sound like a daft question, but does it have to be a DVLA licence? I'd be interested in coming over to the UK for this, but my licence is not DVLA. Does anyone have any experience at track days where drivers have been from outside the UK?

Dave if it's any reassurance, TeaSpn has already been on Silverstone in July this year with AM On-Track Day

Dave hi, this from Silverstone this morning:
  • *******************************************************************************************************
The standard noise limit for all Car and Bike Track days run at Silverstone is 102dB drive by which equates to approx. 105dB static.

All track day operators, car clubs have to adhere to this.

  • ********************************************************************************************************
I am no expert and only have our two previous Track Days as experience; So far no-one was been black flagged, neither Pearl or Vesuvius experienced any problems. Obviously Goodwood will have been disappointing, so understand your caution.

Thats a shame John. A problem we have at Silverstone is they get busy towards the end of March with test days etc. The cost too increases the later in the year it becomes.
