I think I have a virus. For certain web sites (linkedin facebook twitter) I get this page can't be displayed message.
It only affects my account on the home computer and my work lap top. I pads etc. work fine. Can anyone shed any light?

Try a different browser and/or try a different account on the same machine.
Reset browser settings to defaults.

It doesn't really sound like a virus, or at least, not a very effective one.

I have run anti malware software and when I go to pay for it i geth this page can't be displayed. All the other accounts on the computer are fine. It's the same on my works computer too. There are a few references to this on the web but no fix.

which anti malware software?

I'd start with malwarebytes available free at malwarebytes.org

Someone had this problem a while back, no apparent reason for blocking pages. It was traced to a problem with Trusteer's Rapport software.

A few weeks back I had all sorts of strange things happening to only my account on the 'family' laptop. Internet connection was rubbish and kept crashing 9especially on certain sites) All my desktop items disappeared. Checked with malwarebytes and my anti virus and did not find anything significant. My wifes account was unaffected.....

Solution was to delete my account an reinstall. Everything back to normal again.......
