Why can't the father pay for his kid rather than the taxpayer? He didn't have to get her pregnant, presumably?

I wonder if there will be any similar cases where undercover female police officers duped male suspects into sexual relationships, or if it will be one of those strangely one way wrongs.
And I guess if she ever 'dressed up' in a uniform for the guy - she could claim she wasn't being dishonest

Google Colin Stagg - happened decades before this recent case.

Don't be daft. It is well known that females cannot dupe males. And anyway, they just wouldn't do such a thing would they? And anyway, whatever happens, it's always all the bloke's fault.

So wrong on every level, always the taxpayer that really gets fked over in the end.

How many people tell porkies or what ever to get a shag, so he told a real whopper and the taxpayer foots the bill, no wonder the country is financially screwed.

I just wonder if she said anything useful to the investigation?

It may not be pleasant but if lying to a woman to get consensual sex is rape, then I'm in trouble. Because I'm not actually a fighter pilot with my own flat in Monte Carlo and the Astra isn't really a courtesy car handed out by the Lambo dealership whilst the Miura is in for a service. Also, she wasn't really the most beautiful creature in the world.

r he could have resorted to one or more of the many forms of contraception available.
Given his situation it is surely unlikely that he wanted to get her pregnant.

Maybe she told him she couldn't get pregnant and he believed her.

Maybe you are just making things up without any evidence? He was there at the birth which seems to show he was quite involved in it all, seems that the Met had very lax procedures in running these operations, it would be interesting to know if any useful intelligence came from this operation.

Im not making anything up, I said 'maybe'.

I'm simply trying to point out that these things are often a lot less black and white than most people seem to believe.

Doesn't seem much intelligence was used at any stage. All appears rather basic instincts.

In which case unprotected sex probably isn't the best way forward.

More fool him, then. Still no reason why the taxpayer should foot the bill for his shagging.

£2 Million. £1 Million for 'Jackie' and £1 Million for her child she had with Gilbert.

A strong signal needs to be sent.

If serving police officers effing about don't care about the reputation of the police then they can't really expect anyone else to can they?

Considering the recent footballer case where he was convicted because she was too drunk to consent I suppose there may be an argument she was not informed enough to concent.

Not saying I agree it's rape but I can see there is at least an argument there. And no it's different to telling a bird you are a dolphin trainer or millionaire IMO.
