Prompted by this thread.

How much alcohol would you deem acceptable to drink before you drive?

For me, one pint max. After that, soft drinks.

Some may not drink at all if driving afterwards.

For what it's worth, I'd think it a shame not be able to have a beer or glass of wine with a meal if a zero tolerance to alcohol is introduced.

I'll drive within a couple of hours of a couple of pints.
Been breathalised a few times over the years, a couple of times having had a drink, and the readings were well under.

If I'm not eating I'll have a shandy of something fairly light (<4%). If I'm having a decent meal I'll have a pint of the same at the start of the meal as I'm not normally in the car for a good hour and a half after finishing the drink.

Absolutely nothing if I'm riding - law or not I'd like 100% of my wits about me on 2 wheels.

If I'm having a meal I'll have one pint at most but more often just a half pint. If I'm not eating then I won't have anything to drink.

Generally nothing.. I'm well aware that I'm a both literal and figurative lightweight so it's not worth taking the risk. I'll maybe have a small glass of wine or half a pint if I'm eating and I know it will be at least an hour or more before I drive.

I dont really ever drink if I'm driving. I've once had 3 pints over 3 hours, (7-10pm) then drove home at abput 2am. tbh, that might have been pushing it.

1 Pint normally, 1.5 at a push. And that's only for "normal" driving, in fun car... nothing.

2 Pints max however it does depend on how long I'm likely to be out; if it is a pop to the pub after work for an hour type thing then I'll have one, if it is an evening out with friends I'll have a couple and probably water inbetween.

Small beer i.e. 330ml bottle. Nothing more.

I know one person (an ex-Policeman would you believe) who comes out with all sorts of bullst just to have a few drinks then drive. Excuses like having a large meal with it, or him being particularly large. Does my head in.

One pint of mild beer and that's it, although usually nothing. I don't drink before I need to drive, but one pint of mild beer wouldn't worry me.
