Hi all. Searched the forums regarding window problems and have already tried a fuse reset and unplugging the control module but neither has sorted my issue.
When trying to raise or lower my drivers window it moves about two inches and stops. You can raise or lower the whole way but takes around 10 pushes or pulls.
Also when opening the door the window is dropping far more than usual and not returning all the way up.
Passenger window working fine.

Any ideas please?

I take it you have tried the normal rest?....put key in...or ecu....do not start engine...lower window and keep finger on switch until you hear click...raised window using same method....lower and repeat..turn of car a try windows after restarting...
If that don't work dealer job I would think...or BR ....everyone goes there ..except me..

It's what I thought. Hoping someone has had this issue and sorted it. Don't want to swap the module to find its a button or micros witch issue.

purchase of a door module which is not new from factory is risky Imo, why is it out of car and for sale?

there are a few design levels out there and a mismatch on the car will not work, so another risk

the factory has released new level door module significantly reduced in price compared previous, i would bite the bullet and buy 2 of these, they apparently are more robust than previous so should be fit and forget

Thanks Mike. I am assuming from your comment you are happy it's not a switch /button fault. Bizarrely enough the transmission control unit has gone south side at the same time on my Cayenne turbo. I'm putting it down to the change in weather and waiting for the winter gremlins next victim.

Bad luck, electronic gremlins like this suck.

yeah, from the description, has hallmarks of module failure

I have seen this problem a few times and it has always been the window regulator. when the module fails it gives different symptoms

Bad regulator eh? Sounds promising. Is it a repairable problem I.e. Clean and lube runners and cables or strip out and replace?

I had the exact same problem with the same symptoms and in my case it was the regulator that needed changing, this was done under warranty, but I was told the price would have been just under £600 if I was paying for it myself.

I had the same problem some weeks ago. Turned into a rather expensive repair, requiring several parts:

- Door regulator
- 2 new door modules (old and new ones don't mix)
- Reprogramming of the car electronics to the new door modules

I had thought about ordering the parts elsewhere because the parts cost about 2x the UK price in Switzerland. Finally decided against that because I was afraid that if the single parts did not play ball, that would be my problem, not the garage's ones. The garage had some problems with the reprogramming, so that probably was the right call.

Total ticket size 3000 Swiss Franks... Would love to hear of you get away with a simpler repair.

9/10 with a failure like this, problem is door module.

there is a slim chance a reflash of the module could work before binning it, worth a go because you might well be looking at changing pair for reasons stated.

for the 1/10, problem rests with window motor which comes as a complete reg unit, failure is hall effect counter

Electric motor control
Some types of brushless DC electric motors use Hall effect sensors to detect the position of the rotor and feed that information to the motor controller. This allows for more precise motor control
