Sorry for the lame question, but I'm hoping someone knows the area well. I'm visiting a relative today at Guy's Hospital London who is very ill and I'm taking some older relatives to visit.

So I need somewhere that is a short walk and a low chance of parking damage (from small spaces/door dings) would be a bonus.

I've had a google. Is the NCP the best bet, or any decent quiet roads with no restrictions the weekend? I've seen that the hospital itself has parking, but I suspect that these will be taken.

Tube is out of the question unfortunately. Otherwise I'd be going straight to London Bridge station.

Honestly, I wouldn't even try - it is truly hellish around there. No doubt someone will say there's ample street parking within a two minute walk but I've never found it.

All I can suggest is parking somewhere outside town and getting a cab in.

NCP Snowfields if you want a short walk. Street parking in Shad Thames, ten minutes walk. But as said, it's a nightmare around the hospital.

Cool. Thanks. I'll aim for the NCP then.

If it was just me I'd be using the tube. I have a travelcard and it would be so much easier.

It's been a little while since I was last down there - there used to be a "bomb-site" type carpark on St Thomas St, just E of Guys/Shard/back of London Bridge, just before Bermondsey St. Streetview, 2012, still shows it - but the satellite pic looks like they're ripping down all the arches to the N - is it still there?

The NCP is close and all the cars will be parked on the first two floors. If you want to avoid door dings just go up another floor or two and you'll have the whole floor to yourself.
