71. No age at all.

Here he is jamming with Rory Gallagher. A little bit of how I'll remember them both now.

I remember sitting in a pub in Bathgate (early eighties I was in my late teens early twenties ) and this band started setting up. I owned a few Clapton and Cream LP's and I was sure this band member was Jack Bruce older but recognisable from the album covers.

I said to my mates thats Jack Bruce they said who? Well it was and what a special night for me. RIP Jack.

That's fantastic, despite the fact that after watching that I feel rather empty.

See, Rory and Cream were pivotal in my late teens when I was first learning to play the guitar, and I even managed to convince a few mates that driving around the local town with White Room and Blister On The Moon at full volume on the car stereo was actually quite cool and something a bit different to the usual dance / big hair metal tunes that others used to blast out of their cars.

Whatever.

The music of Taste and Cream will always remain, and Jack - for me - is a titan of rock with a fantastic legacy.

R.I.P.

Very sad that he's gone. Saw Bruce with Cream, John Mayall and his solo band around the time of Songs for a Tailor and he was first rate every time. Incidentally I saw Rory Gallaghar too that was a great gig too. RIP.
