Hi guys,

Came across this on-line:

I know the x-type is no-longer made but the full service history, low mileage and the added bonus of the private plate make it quite attractive to me.

What do you think? Is it a money pit?

I'd give no more than £4k. But not a bad car though.

Seems a bit daft quoting a load of warranties in the ad that have all expired.

It's a good mileage and looks from the pics to be in good order but it's 7 years old and only worth retail £3,500-4,000 (trade just over 2,000), the number plate may push this up but not to the asking price. Post 2006 petrol X types really suffer as they are hit with £485 road tax because the engine isn't the cleanest, hence they fetch little in auctions, customers paying £2000-£5000 for a car don't want to be paying that kind of annual road tax on top before paying petrol.
