You do know that all of these figures are just theoretical calculations? The real measurement is torque in Ibs/ft. These other measures just use the torque figure and use the RPM where the peak torque is made to come up with a HP, BHP or PS figure.
The only true measure taken from an engine is the torque?
Everything else is a calculation based on the torque measurement?
What is Power and what is its relationship with energy and work (or in specific reference to your question, torque)? The only true measure taken from an engine is the torque?

work = energy = torque x angular distance moved, note that angular distance is measured in radians which has no units i.e. dimensionless
power = torque x angular speed, note that angular speed is in radian per second, so simply s^-1
This is for a rotating situation like an engine. For a linear siutuation:
energy = work = force x linear distance moved (e.g. dragging a crate on the ground 1m)
power = work / time (e.g. if you dragged the crate the same distance in half the time, you would have expended the same energy but would have produced twice the power)

The potential for a manual gearbox re-raises interesting questions.
If its a manual gearbox then what will it be? Will it be the current 7 speed manual box in some shape or form?
If so then this includes with it the "manually converted shift actuator" since this is the key to getting the gears to swap.
Its a terrible interface, particularly when trying to drive in an engaging manner.
Thus the choices become: PDK with no clutch pedal or a clutch pedal but with control over gear selection being carried out via the rather horrible shift actuator.
Purely theoretical and of course theres no single answer to which is better.

I still want white stitching in my GT4 :-)
But you need to have the stitching matched to the callipers Shirley. Red for me; would have preferred PCCB but much prefer the red stitching with black leather. The red stitching was an £895 rip off extra on the GT3 whereas the 'platinum' was free with the leather pack. So no red for me at that price......apart from red belts of course which are usually 'reasonable' value.

My dealer has advised £65-70k starting price. Is this consistent with what others have heard?
A new 911 GTS is £91k. A GT3 was £10k more. A Boxster GTS is £52k (i think), so the price i've been advised would be about right.
Surely they will have to make sure it's not too good though, being £30k less than a GT3!
