I think PDLS adds weight. How many people drive hard at night enough to want to pay extra for a heavier light system in a weight prioritised car? Agreed, my V6 Exige ex430 is quicker than pretty much any other car at the track that can be driven there, other than a road tyre'd radical or V8 Atom. I can stay out and do a whole tank of fuel in one track session without hurting the car, and go all day long, most other stuff has over heated or chewed up its tyres by then, or both. On a track it really does stand alone.My reason for wanting to move to a GT4 is that the Exige is, in my view, a one trick pony. It can do track days like no other car, but cannot do normal driving or fun days out on UK roads, it's just too raw. I think the GT4 would tick all my boxes, manual box, light, huge brakes that won't die in one track day, ear defenders not required for any journey over 10 miles.

The Exige is absolutely no problem on our roads for more than 10 miles.
One trick pony ? - the S2 maybe, but the V6 is a whole different ball game.
Is everyone going soft or what?
I really think the comparisons between GT4 and Exige of any flavour are wrong.
You have so many options on the Porsche to make it an easy driving, comfortable place to be - not so on the Lotus (although I find it fits me better than a 987 ever did).
Just because they appear in the same price point doesn't automatically make them comparative.
There's much more to both of them, in the positive and negative.

I thnk a couple of trips to Spa and the Ring have pushed me over the edge! Once there and on track it is an epic machine, getting there and back is just a crap experience. The Exige is absolutely no problem on our roads for more than 10 miles.

Well, I've just put a deposit on a Renault Clio V6 with less than 700 miles on the clock! For less than half the cost of (what would have been) my GT4, I now have a mint Clio Williams, virtually new Clio V6 and a bit of a track slag Clio 172...
I reckon I'll have all the fun (if not the outright speed) and at least as much (if not more) potential for appreciation over the next few years!
I'm a happy boy and won't be back in any Pork for a while, I reckon! This hasn't left a bitter taste at all but I just don't see myself ever buying enough cars from an OPC to be on the special list. No hard feelings - there are other cars out there, people!

it does seem those who got early loi's and deposits down are those getting cars regardless of history,anyone on here not get an early loi,or deposit and is now getting a car because at the moment I dont see anyone in that category.Im number 2 on the list.
deposits made no odds you had 2 weeks after the launch date to secure your slot with a deposit.
remember no one has a full order yet (paid 10% with build slot) , so those paying early deposits did not get a car because of that !.
I had a early LOI and still getting a car with no deposit paid till after launch date.

I believe the build slots are being issued early this week, so those 10% deposits should be being paid by the lucky few...remember no one has a full order yet (paid 10% with build slot) , so those paying early deposits did not get a car because of that !.

'you paid the first deposit ,you're getting the first car we get ' in the words of my dealer. It would also seem that most who did slap early deposits down are getting,so yes it wasnt necessary in some cases but it did seem to make a difference .remember no one has a full order yet (paid 10% with build slot) , so those paying early deposits did not get a car because of that !.

I do feel terrible though,that deposit if left in my savings account would have earned me £0.07 interest.
I know you love saying you left a early deposit, but it means nothing, and no deposits were taken by Porsche until the car was launched and even then you had a 2 week window in case one was on holiday.
every one I know who is getting a car left deposits after launch. ie the proper Porsche way :-)
