How would you say the gt4 compares to the exige v6, more as a dual usage car than track focused one?

Fair enough, suspect you might quite like the v6 though if you ever got a go in one.....

Seeing as you've borrowed a few other PHers Porsches in the past, you're more than welcome to a go in my V6...

I'm starting to wonder if the GT4 will be better on the best roads the UK offers, which are B roads, compared to a GT3 or GT3 RS

Was in a 3 lane convoy tonight with a white 991 C4 something or other, another car which was being driven possibly from Korea, by someone who's head I could not see, so either shorter lady or chimp, and then me in my superchipped Yaris diesel. I was driving sensibly because we have the dog in the car after it's walk. It gets a bit stroppy unless I stroke it along.

And we had a bloody train, two non descript cars being held up by Mr Porsche. He was all over the road, not wanting to get any scratching from the passenger side he was often going over onto the other side of the road and then with approaching traffic feeling uncomfortable so slowing down.

Of course his car costs a lot more than our st boxes, so that did not help. Too worried.

But it got me thinking, the GT4 is quite wide, but not that much wider considering the increase in performance over the more standard cars presumably. And so it is better to be used over our best windy UK roads, even if it does not have as much power etc etc.

Fairly narrow car, manual gearbox, mid engined.

The more think about it the more I think this is such a fantastic car at such a bargain price (relatively, for the lucky)

That's my thoughts from a non Porsche person. Enjoy.

As per my feedback it's epic.

Steering feel brilliant, chassis sublime. The bad points are nit picking (designed in i.e long gearing, restricted engine) and don't detract from the fact it's an amazing car. Certainly the best thing I've driven for as long as I can remember and before I chose the GT4 looked at / drove F430, Gallado, V10 R8, Cayman R. Better than that lot, the old R by some margin in my opinion.

Very flattering car I suspect in the softer set-up.

I drove up in a half decent car, nothing amazing (2015 Golf R) and since driving the GT4 it just feels st in every respect. Once you have driven one prepare to want it now!

But now let's stop fking about with how it drives, it's all about colour combos, is the Nav worth it for resell and seats.
Very much liking the sound of this

Didn't think your legs were long enough to press the gas pedal all the way?

Including mirrors, same width as a 991 GT3 & the RS - 1978mm

On Friday I got the chance to drive the yellow GT4 at PEC. First time I've been there and went with the missus where she jumped in a boxster s whilst I got myself in the GT4. Coincided with my birthday so it was a great day out.

Car looks soooo much better in the flesh and whilst I was a bit concerned with the spoiler on the pictures, it all fits and looks great. I know it was a smooth surface but I thought the ride was very compliant, not anywhere near as harsh as I was expecting. The clutch felt a bit harder than my Cayman GTS and I would say it's on par with the 987 Cayman S I used to own. The gearbox and shifts felt great with a nice mechanical feel. Couldn't say I noticed a major difference in steering feel but to be honest, whilst your hooning it round the track it's all a bit of a whirlwind. Hard to take much in!

One thing I thought the exhaust didn't sound as loud or impressive as I thought it was going to. Again it might be because there was so much going on or it was a pre production car?

LWB's are absolutely fine and I've now amended my order to include both those and the clubsport package. I thought the cage could obscure my rear view but it was fine.

The handling is just on another level and the grip is awesome. You could certainly feel the point where the car started to rotate much easier than on my GTS and you feel much more 'connected' to the road/track

So my order is about to lock and I've gone for:

Mexico Blue
PCCB
Clubsport
Interior with yellow stitching.
Racing Yellow seat belts
12 o'clock marking in yellow
Black wheels
Rear wing supports in black
Bi-xenon headlights incl PDLS
Two zone automatic climate control
Cruise control
Smoking package
Light design package
Automatically dimming Mirrors with rain sensor
PCM Nav
DAB
Telephone Bluetooth module

All in at £86k. Ouch! I take comfort that I shouldn't lose much on that if anything at all. We'll see...

Build date in October so with the 12 week delay for PTS I think it will be a January pick up. After driving it on Friday it's going to go much slower now! Can't wait!

They have, yes. I managed to make the switch to PTS a month or so ago. I've just amended the rest of my order to finalise it.

Nice spec Mexico Blue with yellow.

Quite a popular choice. That's now 6 UK cars in that colour combo as I understand it - will look awesome.

Did you see the Mexico 14 plate 911?

I did yeah. First time I've properly seen Mexico blue in the flesh.....well I'm pretty sure I've seen the colour before without actually knowing its name. That car looked great, pleased with the colour choice!

I was going Guards Red originally but i would go Carmine having seen the 2 side by side at Silverstone.

Yeah me too - was Mexico Blue for me from the off with Acid green the outside choice.

But I added Mexico Blue the morning PTS went live. After seeing that car glad I did although I have some upgrades planned to break the blue up a bit!

Serious yes - although PM's are still fubar'd on here.

You could post it under 'Something that isn't as well built as a Porsche and the switch gear isn't as tactile' section.
