I'm collecting mine this weekend so add another one to the mix. I know of one other Voodoo Blue which should have landed this week as well. At this rate there'll be more GT4s in Northumberland than Mondeos! smile
Hey S - nice to see you on here again - hope this one's engines fine LOL smile

CDR+ (£1052 with Sound Package Plus, USB and DAB included as standard) + Phone prep (£446) = £1498

PCM (£2141), Sound package plus (£396), DAB (£324) + phone prep(£446) = £3307

So Navigation costs you an additional £1809 , which seems a hell of a lot.

What else does PCM give you??
Are you sure this is correct as both CDR+ and PCM information on the configurator say that they both have "radio with RDS twin tuner". Does someone have a car with just CDR+ and can confirm if it has DAB or not as standard?

From Porsche website:-
CDR +

I think porsche has been quiet clever here cdr is free but to add dab and spp is £1052 when the 2 items are only a £720 extra for PCM .
So you end up paying £332 for the privalidge of cdr in a cdr+ car!unless cdr+ adds more than dab and spp over cdr!

Just had a look and the £332 is for the USB element of cdr+

My Voodoo is arriving in the next week too. It is currently at the port waiting for a lift to the dealer.

Where was this second run "announced"? as Tewksbury don't seem to know about it. If you are correct, and I very much hope that you are, then they will be getting additional cars. As I'm next on the list I'llbe happy if they only get one additional car!

Did I say happy? I mean ecstatic!
It was about a week ago. It's very possible that not all dealers had their notification at the same time hence some are non the wiser. I really hope that's the case for you. Just keep contacting them and tell them that your mates on pustonheads have had news through of a second run. They could quite easily call their contact at Porsche UK and get the info.

This is very much the second run so badger them!

Keep us updated.

So , any idea on how many in total then ? Cheers smile
It would be guesswork but say 20 dealers average say 6 cars is 120 plus second allocation of which I don't know, a lot less than the first. I would say maybe less than 200 cars total? I did hear or read somewhere 300 planned in the beginning but I think it'll be much less than that. The spyder was supposed to be less still but I think they'll possibly be similar numbers

Cayman R was I think 230 units for the UK so in that ballpark maybe a few less.

Congratulations! What colour did you get? I haven't driven the GT4 either but I'm looking forward to playing with it. Aside from the next generation GT3/RS, the only 911 I'm interested in right now is the 911R which should be an amazing car.

Are there not 34 or 35 OPCs in the UK? Even smaller operations seem to be getting at least 6 cars in the first tranche of cars and while it is unsubstantiated there was talk of 15 allocated to one centre.

Six each is over 200 cars.

Hi S,long time since the 991GT3 campaign.
911R or GTR will be great but told no more than 7 cars for UK !

Now allocating them will be fun.

May I add a little to the debate over deteriorating eyesight. PorscheGT4 is right about the fall-off in visual acuity but incorrect to attribute the deterioration to a reduction in pupil size, which only has a minor effect. Indeed, his eyesight began to deteriorate from around his mid-twenties but only now, in his mid-forties, is the change really noticeable.

The cause of his dysfunctional night vision, & it affects everyone as its a part of the ageing process, is a change to his dark adaptation curve. His eyes simply can't react quickly enough to drops in light intensity nor react as fully, & it's a progressive deterioration. Try this if you're over 45 years of age: walk into a dark room, from a well lit exterior, with someone twenty years younger: that person will adapt quicker & see much more detail in the dark than you. In addition, lenticular changes occur in later years further reducing light input to the retina. Smaller pupil size, cataracts & worsening dark adaptation are all age-related changes that effect ones night vision: factor in health issues, eye disease & hereditary conditions & you have even more reasons why "the eyes ain't what they used to be", as we age.

Therefore anyone over the age of forty-five should for safety reasons seriously consider any lighting up-grade offered for their beloved machines, for the above reasons. Certainly go for the best lights possible on a high performance machine like the Cayman GT4, rather than go anal on other more meaningless options.

Hi! Yeah it's been a while. Do you still have your car?

I think nobody really knows anything about the R which means there's a lot of speculation out there. I have my fingers crossed but I won't hold my breath smile

There are going to be >300 cars for sure, probably end up nearer 400 than 300 imo.
