Therefore anyone over the age of forty-five should for safety reasons seriously consider any lighting up-grade offered for their beloved machines, for the above reasons. ^ this! Hence why I went light upgrade over fake carbon

silver looks a bit cheap to me, I went for black 1st , then saw a car with it and that also looks naf, colour bits looks cheap for the GT4 inside so that was also off, so by default the Carbon was the best looking choice and matched the seats.

Leather would be a nice choice if one did not want Carbon, but I suspect most will want the Carbon look when buying 2nd hand it just looks right, it is neat and matches the seats.
fake or not I bought for the end look and it was a very late add on for me, but happy I did.

I know it's all personal, but that was my own thought process on it.

We've gone for painted in exterior colour. Everyone has gone carbon. It's a bit common.

It was about a week ago. It's very possible that not all dealers had their notification at the same time hence some are non the wiser. I really hope that's the case for you. Just keep contacting them and tell them that your mates on pustonheads have had news through of a second run. They could quite easily call their contact at Porsche UK and get the info.

This is very much the second run so badger them!

Keep us updated.
I was in there yesterday and they are in the process of speaking to Porsche UK. His take though was that production was going to be over by end of March, hence why he was surprised at the May & June build slots.

I went for LWBS.the optional £1344 leather and standard silver stitching to avoid breaching my self imposed budget limit.I must admit i was pleasantly surprised by how classy it looks.I was expecting shiny plain silver look but in reality its an authentic grained pure aluminium look.It also perfectly matches the silver stitching and silver steering wheel,it contrasts and lifts the whole interior imho.
It looks like it is genuine alu, maybe it is!.I think the £1344 leather option is essential along with LWBS for easy resale.

I agree - 34 dealers. I know of two who have > 15 - if I was guessing (if 1/3 got 15 1/3 got 10 and the balance 8 ) that would give just over 370 +/- 20 % either way gives a number of 300 to 450 ish - so my money's on 375 : Bottom line is there is a lot of talk of people suddenly being able to get cars and as such all those flipping for overs need to watch out smile

On what is essentially a dark interior, my thought process was to break it up with something a bit lighter. It also separates the leather nicely from the alcantara on the dash and the doors.
I had proper carbon (I think it was!!) in my 996 C4S and it was lovely with the centre console all in carbon, handbrake, vents, binnacle etc and although the interior generally on the GT4 is a much nicer affair, i do think they could have designed the centre console a bit more imagination.

Lets face it, its not going to be a deal breaker for most people on the used market either way.

I didn't appreciate that there were 34 dealers! My local dealer had 4 and I've spoken to a few other dealers that also had 4.
Looking at it again my bet would be 300 cars.

If there are already so many I would ask why there aren't more on the used market being flipped?
There are so many GT3's still for sale in caparison?

May I add a little to the debate over deteriorating eyesight. PorscheGT4 is right about the fall-off in visual acuity but incorrect to attribute the deterioration to a reduction in pupil size, which only has a minor effect. Indeed, his eyesight began to deteriorate from around his mid-twenties but only now, in his mid-forties, is the change really noticeable.

The cause of his dysfunctional night vision, & it affects everyone as its a part of the ageing process, is a change to his dark adaptation curve. His eyes simply can't react quickly enough to drops in light intensity nor react as fully, & it's a progressive deterioration. Try this if you're over 45 years of age: walk into a dark room, from a well lit exterior, with someone twenty years younger: that person will adapt quicker & see much more detail in the dark than you. In addition, lenticular changes occur in later years further reducing light input to the retina. Smaller pupil size, cataracts & worsening dark adaptation are all age-related changes that effect ones night vision: factor in health issues, eye disease & hereditary conditions & you have even more reasons why "the eyes ain't what they used to be", as we age.

Therefore anyone over the age of forty-five should for safety reasons seriously consider any lighting up-grade offered for their beloved machines, for the above reasons. Certainly go for the best lights possible on a high performance machine like the Cayman GT4, rather than go anal on other more meaningless options.

Probably because not that many have been delivered yet. Expect the number for sale to increase to similar levels to the GT3, which should make maintaining a huge profit challenging. If MrD is lining up for a flip, he'll have to react soon imo.

As for 15 cars for some dealers, I don't believe it; one which has claimed to have that many category laughed when I mentioned it; they said they wished, and they've been honest with me so far, having allocated me a slot from nowhere. 300 would be where we'll finish I reckon.

Most haven't received cars yet I don't think, plus it's still very rare even with a few extra cars being released and I'd strongly suspect this is a car which will keep climbing in value. One of the last NA manual Porsches I suspect.

Loads of cars sell with no adds, my Gt3 and my R were both sold with zero adverts, what's to say I still have a GT4 and I did not sell for £115k straight away ?

I have had people pm me about cars being flipped but not to go public about it quite a few cars are changing hands under the radar.

I have an Audi TTS now and very happy with it, it even has dsg :-) 4wd and xenons great for winter :-).
My name is down on the Cayman RS let the rumours start here :-).

My est is 250 cars we will have to wait another 8 months to see how many, like wise one OPC having 15 cars seems crazy.

Days of £30k overs have gone IMO. But you should get £15k still if you want to flip it.
