My 2005 WRX SportWagon has started overheating. The radiator took nearly 4 litres so presumably there's a leak somewhere, no heat from the heater, thermostatic cooling on.

Any thoughts or experience?

Could be a number of things really. The radiators hoses are notorious for leaking, so I'd start there. I had a leaking radiator myself last year, but it was quite obvious where it was (top by the radiator cap).

Get under the car with it running and see if there's any dripping. If not, then it's a sniff test I'm afraid

Thanks, there is water leaking - got to be - but I cannot see from where, all looking a bit corroded. Car's done 120k miles and this is the first non-routine maintenance item it's needed so I'm not complaining.
