Firstly, virtual pint to you for taking him in etc

Well done for checking for his owners and they must be pleased.

Now, time for you to head to the local kitty rescue and obtain a kitten methinks. Ideally a black one as they struggle to find homes.

I was wondering about that too. Now, it may be the cat is being treated etc but from the description it didn't sound well looked after.....

We picked up a pair of 2 year old neutered brothers from the local rescue centre which nearly a year on was a brilliant decision. Pairs are harder to re-home apparently but make so much more sense for us as we both work so they can keep each other company. Also in our garden I'm not sure a kitten would have stood much chance.

Unfortunately the mice they keep bringing in aren't quite as welcome.

Yes, where's the other Chuckle Brother?

But well done for taking in a rescue.

Oh yes, two kittens are great fun - they scrap like mad and have mad half hours (oh, I should note curtains may die during such events) and it is hilarious to watch them.

I wish my cat attacked my (cheap Range) curtains. Unfortunately she much prefers the £60+/m2 carpet irked

NB Congrats to OP for taking a rescue cat (albeit then calling it Barry, doh!)

Out for a walk with the missus and a cat has followed us all the way home (a couple of miles)

He (she?) is really skinny, but scabby round the ears and eyes, no collar.

Looks like he may have belonged to someone at some point but has definelty been neglected for a while.

We've brought him in and given him some food, he seems perfectly happy and comfortable.

We'll take him to the vet tomorrow to see if he's chipped and then potentially we'll keep him as a house cat if he's ownerless.

What's the advice of the floor?
I had this exact same thing happen to me one day but by one of the last things i expected to follow me home from a walk in the woods,an albino ferret!!Had her for 2 years, brilliant wee pet she was.

Ferrets are awesome, I've had loads over the years. Stink a bit though hehe
