My son (18) is going over to see this next month so I'm thinking of going with him. He's on a mission to see all the world's greatest derbies/rivalries.

Any tips? How safe? Anyone been before?

Oh well, ticket's booked. Two days in Paris plus the match on the Sunday evening. Should be good.

Enjoy.

I'd assume if the match is in Paris it should be safer in theory compared to it being in Marseille.

Just out of interest, how much is the total cost for the whole weekend?

Per person, match ticket £75, return flight from Luton £73, hotel £46 (£23 each), parking at Luton £10 (£5 each).

So about £175, plus some spending money whilst we're there, meals, metro fairs, touristy things. I reckon £250/head all in.

Could have done it a fair bit cheaper if we'd got our act together sooner, re flights and match tickets.

Great game and superb atmosphere. Not as good as Dortmund (I was actually deaf for 24 hours after that match) but miles ahead of Barca, which is overrated.
2-0 to PSG. I've never rated Cavani before but he was immense. Like a young Drogba. Or Andy Carrol with talent.

Get to Lisbon for Sporting vs Benfica, I went in 2001 at Benfica's old stadium and it was an immense atmosphere. Both teams had new stadiums built around 2003, Sportings is maybe slightly better and has really good transport links from the city centre and airport. Cheap flights to Lisbon and cheap tickets for the matches, well worth it.
