If the person he said his ridiculous stupid comment to perceived it as being racist then the police are duty bound to act on it, the daily mail won't say that though.
It's a stupid thing to say in the first place, why even say it? He was asked to remove his shoes because he was going through security, no sympathy from me he should have kept his mouth shut. He's saying only Muslims should be subject to more detailed searches, they guys an idiot.

I'm afraid that I put more value in the definitions offered by the Oxford Dictionary than a bloke who doesn't understand the term racism and uses this lack of understanding to justify his own racist tendencies.

It may seem harsh, but if you look at it from another position, someone makes a claim of Racially/religiously aggravated public order...that's something that would go to CPS for charging decision etc. police have to take action, and would be heavily criticised if they didn't.(Eclassy should be along soon to clarify Code G and necessity, but I would argue positive action had to be taken)

On the basis that anyone offended by a statement like that shouldn't be doing the job of a security guard, especially at an airport, where they revel in being complete arses.I have actually made the same remark myself, when they really did confiscate my small unopened bottle of lucozade, at Birmingham airport, despite all the documentation I carry.
Also, bear in mind the chap is 75 years old, and almost certainly, like myself, he will not bow down to this liberal PC crap.
I am surprised, but perhaps I shouldn't be, that people would support his arrest.
