What are the pitfalls or benefits in buying tickets direct from the ACO when they go on sales to the general public at the end of November please anyone?

None.. It's simple these days and hasn't failed to deliver what I've asked for since 2003.

Depends what you're after, tickets for some campsites seem to go entirely to agencies. If it's just entry or grandstand tickets or Beausejour camping i'd go to the ACO and avoid the mark-up.

A nice person from UPS delivers it later... if you can't book (there have been technical glitches on the the website)- give them a ring.. English is spoken

As already mentioned it depends on what you want, if you are after the larger sites or those with less demand you will get what ever you want even after the two week members period. you will also be able to get most of the grandstands. However depending on how many tickets/camping passes/grandstand you want it is worth looking at ACO membership as the discounts may cover the Euro 102 cost, and you get first choice so you will get a better camping site

Thanks for the replies. We will be looking for Houx and entrance tickets. I assume if we order tickets on the ACO website if it says Houx is available then we will get Houx tickets?

Houx shouldn't be too hard to get. I first chose Houx last year before changing my mind to Chateau de Houx & had no issues getting tickets in either case.
Terte Rouge campsite is the only one that tends to be gone beforehand.

Start trying to log in about 30 minutes before the official time & keep refreshing until the links come up.
A tip for beginners, make sure you know which password is for which log in, you have two for your account.

As an ACO member I've normally heard from them by now when tickets are going on sale. So I looked on their website just now and I see tickets go on sale to members on 25th November and then on sale to the general public on 28th November - only 3 days priority for members this year!!! My memory says that members have in the past got at least a weeks priority - maybe more - not this year!

I just received the ACO email, opening on the 25th November. Good luck getting tickets, it'll be survival of the fittest this year.

Why, 'good luck getting tickets' this year?

Also, on the email it mentions 'midnight' after the dates. Do you take that as the ticket office opens at midnight on the 25th? I've seen 0930 or 1030 on the 25th mentioned before.

The ACO website says 10.30 which means 9.30 UK time.

The site is frustrating this year in that there isn't a map or list of campsites available at the moment - I was wondering about an ACO members only site if there is one with some (ideally good) security available but not sure which to book, any recommendations? We've stayed offsite for the last couple of years which is great in some ways but can be a pain for travel with all the time stuck in queues but don't fancy going back to Beausejour.

I said good luck because it seems like demand is higher, but supply may be lower for the campsites this year. I keep hearing that ticket agents are unsure of allocations. I'm happy to be proved wrong. It seemed like this year, they were cramming people in where they could.

I stayed at Le Chateau de Houx ACO members campsite this year, it has a wall around the site & is next to the Thomas Cook site. Great place to stay, loved it.
There is a new ACO members campsite mentioned in the email "A new camping area “Les Epinettes” located in front of the Houx campsite, with 500 places for Club members". Security is usually pretty good for the ACO sites.

I've just had a quick look at the ACO site in readiness for getting tickets this year and the Guidelines PDF here http://www.lemans.org/wpphpFichiers/1/1/ressources... on page 7 gives the option of a print at home ticket.

So that will save €22 or all the hassle of collecting at the track or wherever they move it to this year.

Just as an FYI, I managed to log on to part of the ticketing site this morning, I guess because were testing it in middle of the night in Europe & at the top right of the ticketing page is the link to log in to your ACO account.
I may not be the smartest person, but it took me a while to find it.

Also, the grandstand (tribune) section is map based from where you select the tribune & then you can select your seats.

I couldn't get through to the campsite section before it kicked me out, sorry.

Just remember to have your log in details all sorted for your email log in & membership log in & remember which password goes with which log in.

Anyone else struggling to pay for the tickets? I have put all the details in and selected the Europe delivery option but it says I have not got an appropriate delivery country for the address. Tried delivery to the world too and that also didn't work. And of course, the ACO phone lines are busy!

You need to select Royume-Uni or something very similar for UK in the country bit.

Did you use email and password to log in?

I was on the English language version and selected United Kingdom. Thinking that maybe the ACO expect us to have left the EU by next June I also tried delivery to the world but it was still the wrong place. I chose collection from site in the end to get the tickets booked, will hopefully manage to get through on the phone sometime between now and then to get it changed to delivery.

It may have been confused as my membership is associated with my French address. I did manage to login with my email address and password - I checked they worked last week as that has been the usual problem when booking.
