Now around the end of March my wife went in for her hip replacement so, once again, photographs were not a priority but we started on the driveway & retaining wall

Nice shiny new floor!

Glad you managed to get through the planning maze!
I'd be really interested to know the dimensions of this part of the floor plan as our new extended house will be a similar layout but I'm struggling to visualise it!

Great work and great thread fella !

From the page one shots of the first block work, did you use trenchblocks on the first course, or some other interlocking block I can see ? If so, did they save any time, were they any easier... if you can remember that far back ...

For everyone else, it's these;

Not sure whether to give them a go on the next project...

Mr Chips - will try to fish out the plans - may take a while as I have no idea where they are but I'll pm them over to you.

Catfood - sorry, no idea - they builders did all that - I didn't get my hands dirty at all - I'm a professional penpusher!

We are now at January 2012 - and I had MY hip replacement so, again, photographs are few & far between but at least I was at home for when the decorators painted the outside. You will notice the lamp is now complete too.

and bought a patio set

Well, that's about it. Hope you enjoyed the thread - I must say it took nearly as long to load the pics as it did to do the build!

However, it was quite cathartic and has made me realise that I haven't taken any more pics since May 2012 so I need to rectify that as the garden has changed a bit now.

Thanks for looking.

That's great. Looks so good and must be worth so much more. Done anything fancy inside the garage?
