Just in case your as sad excited as I am to finally be able to play these on a modern system with no mess / no fuss Please check out Great Old Games here

Lucasfilm games are finally released including:

X-Wing (original and 1998 updates)
Tie-Fighter (Original and 1998 updates)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old republic
Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis
Secret of Monkey Island

I spent hours upon hours on Tie Fighter and X-Wing and I'm so excited as I've never been able to get it working on my modern PCs!

I heard (well, read) that it will be using the original textures etc? Does that include X-wing v Tie Fighter? That was an awesome game!

Hah.. looks cheap until you factor in the joystick I'm going to have to buy to play it biggrin

Just means I'll be all the more ready for Elite when it's released then.

I've not played many games better than Tie Fighter. Can't wait for this now.

You can play either versions, the old DOS graphics and with the 1998 'collectors ed' with the x-wing v Tie graphics engine smile But without the massive ballache of getting it tor un on modern 3d hardware.

Shall be added to basket come Friday, along with Kotor.

You rotters!! I may have just purchased both and a joystick to go with them, plus Monkey Island to complete the frivolous nostalgia trip...

Awesome. I spent many an hour playing X-Wing and TIE Fighter.

This was my joystick of choice at the time. Being able to configure the shields with a switch on the joystick was brilliant. smile

I remember picking Tie Fighter up a couple of years after it came out and just couldn't believe how vast it was. It just seemed to go on forever with so much variety, near enough wiped out my mid-teenage years along with Dark Force & Dune 2, played on my parents lowly PC!

I remember saving up around £1,000 of paper-round, birthday & Christmas money over several years to actually buy my first 'own' gaming PC (it took longer as I stretched to the massive 6gb hard drive, 512mb RAM and huge 17" monitor...)- just in time for the release of C&C Tiberium Sun biggrin Good memories!
