No surprises there! Mind, with just two years at the job thought he didn't do too bad.

One big change is that michelle roux used to work with wallace - pretty obvious the new chap thinks he's a tool.
Their tooong and froing today didn't work imo - because wallace just had to keep bleating on about the damn apple.

Pity, other than that i've been enjoying it, and tonights bunch were at a really high standard..

Its called light hearted banter, you really are seeing something that isn't there.People seem to slag Gregg off constantly but it needs him for the humour.

Danny works at Kenny Atkinson's restaurant in Newcastle, House of Tides.

Not surprised he was good as the food is excellent there. Best place in the North East at the moment.

Hope I haven't just cursed him though.....sort your shakes out!

My mrs goes past House of Tides every day, had no idea it was such a top drawer place. I'd go and eat there but having looked at the menu there is no point booking as said mrs will not eat any of it.

A good standard today, Danny was the standout and I think he'll do well in the competition as long as he relaxes into it.

I wished Greg would have shut up about that apple. I don't think Marcus was not tolerating him, he seemed friendly enough while Greg was blathering on. Marcus, Monica and MRJ all seem to let Greg say his bit, they know, and we know as viewers, whose opinions really count on this show. When Monica and Marcus say something is good, I believe them. When someone slaps a load of chocolate and cream on a plate, I see someone giving a dog a bone.

Phew. Am glad Luciana(Sp?) made it through; not the strongest contender but, like to see more women in the profession..

Daniel is out. Here come the critics.

Anyone know where the studios are for MC? Thought it might be Three Mills having seen the train bridge/canal clip just now.
Looks like a new one. Used to be in a brewery in Wandsworth.
Yep, I think I heard someone else say it used to be in Wandsworth. I had a cycle around the Three Mills studio this morning and can confirm it is where MCTP is now held.

Wow.

The critics and the chefs could not be further apart tonight.

I never eaten anything out of a water bath but I must say it does not look appealing.

I had an idea that all four would go through. Echo the sentiments on the differing views between the Chefs and critics.

Am I the only one who keeps thinking "I don't want to see Paul Hollywood and Jamie Oliver as Bodie and Doyle" when I see this thread?

Very random but if you know who I mean you won't be able to get it out of your head.

+1 on the critics. If the sneering bds are so particular about their food, how come they all have 6 necks? Hardly makes them look picky, does it? I have paticular contempt for Rayner, who is the 3rd god awful fat sneery git from their family that we've had to tolerate. Plus his beard is rubbish.
