I'm at the stage where I need to replace the tyres on my OEM 18" wheels on my M135i.

The tyres I've used on the car since delivery are the standard 'Star-Marked' BMW / Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Front: 225/40/R18, Rear: 245/35/R18.

As the car is used for weekends and fun miles only (not commuting), I'm not really concerned about mileage etc., just performance. I'd be tempted to try a set of the new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, but I can't see them available in the required sizes anywhere...

Are there any other tyres worth considering that would be better performers than the MPSS, or should I just stick to what I've already been using? Any input appreciated.

The Supersports are pretty much universally regarded as the best all-around performance tire. Meaning it has great performance both in dry and wet and great tire life. I wouldn't go with the Cups for a street driven car to be honest. If it was a track car then sure but many things can happen when you drive on the streets.

If you want something with even more dry performance than the Supersports that's still relatively decent in the wet you could try the new Yokohama AD08 R.

I've currently got AD08R's on my GT3 and don't think they are as good as the SuperSports.

Having tried lots of different makes and models of tyre on various performance cars I still rate the MPSS as the best all-round tyre available.

The new Cup2 is a big step forward over the old Cup, but still compromised in full wet (standing water) performance and the tread depth they come with as new. But they do wear significantly better than the old Cups and are much better in the damp.

That's interesting jackwood, what makes you say that about the Yokohamas? Everything i've read about them seems to indicate that they will have the superior dry performance at least. I've got the normal AD08s on my Z4M and really rate them, haven't tried the Michelins though, plus out here in Cyprus wet or cold weather performance is of minimal importance to me.
