I have begun looking at a few Ferrari 430 cars (possibly 458) with a view to do some racing in one next season.

Sparked on by the fact that my position in the Q for a new 458 special A has failed to provide me a car....frown

Anyone know of cars for sale and what championships I can run one in?

there seem to be plenty about for what look like sensible money, but finding somewhere to race one will be a challenge. the Ferrari open has ended. depending on how much you want to spend there is always GT Cup which is very healthy, and Britcar which is less so. Personally if it was me, I would look to do something like the Portuguese GT championship and do some races in europe

I was thinking more of the Ferrari UK owners club races as a start

If you want to race in the UK FOC I think the classic is still going, but I think the cut off is 328.

Has the Ferrari open series ceased to exist then?

Other then that, GT Cup would be a good bet.

Why not just do the CSCC "New Millenium" series, a new series for 2015, for post year 2000 cars, and earlier cars that don't fit in with existing CSCC series due to their aero or sequential gearbox?

GT Cup would be a good place to race it, good grids close racing and friendly paddock and a real mix of cars.

Weekend consists of Saturday: 40min free practice, 30min Qualifying, and a 40min 1 or 2 driver race with mandatory pit stop
Sunday: 20min qualifying and 2 25min races

both days can be entered separately which makes it very flexible.
we have run a Ginetta G50s in the GTA class for the last 2 years and plans are in place to be racing again next year and i hope to get 2 cars out in the series.

Have you considered something a whole faster for your money?

Maybe worth taking a look on Facebook at Brscc oss championship. Boasting a very diverse range of exotic sports cars with a great paddock atmosphere & the fastest lap times in the country!

Hi DG27.
I am just about to put two 458 Challenge cars onto the market for sale. One is my own and the others is my fathers. They have been raced in PFO in a few races and then did last two years in GT Cup. We ran them with G-Cat racing last season, but season before was with FF Corse. Two good cars in good condition and competitive and both come with full spares package, including spare suspension, brakes, aero package, replacement bumpers, wings etc, 3 sets of wheels each. I have a full spares list package. Both cars have been upgraded with suspension, brakes and aero package and are eligible for GT Cup/Britcar/Dutch Supercar/British GT (GTC class) and more.
if you have interest please email me:
peterjennings@ducalescapital.com

I can send pics and full specs of cars then and prices.

Thanks for good advice here

Would love a 458 (thanks for the offer) but they are 150-170k and that is more than I want to spend

actually selling for FAR less than that. do you have a contact email and I can send you the particulars, I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the deal.
