Didn't really know where to post this one, so apologies if I'm in the wrong section...

We are looking to set-up a system where we can advertise/display a slideshow on a monitor(s)/screen(s) behind the counter in our shop.

The screen(s) will display special offers and products that we sell.

Initial thoughts are as follows:

A tablet (not sure which would be best at this moment in time?) to allow the customer to go through the slideshow at their will.
Connected to the tablet is a large screen on the wall behind counter, which displays whatever is on the tablet.
A smaller screen in the shop window, displaying the same as the large screen.
We need something with a very simple user interface.

Is this at all possible? We are a small business, so haven't got £,000's to spend.

I've done a bit of Googling, but not really having much luck (maybe I'm using the wrong words?).

Any thoughts/pointers would be much appreciated...

Cheers!

Digital signage was the phrase used to describe things like that last time I had anything to do with it.

Amscreen provide digital signage and monitors to retailers. They do have some bespoke solutions but I have a feeling that they will be expensive. If you think you want to become a media mogul you could sell the space to other local businesses

Was in a huge hypermarket recently, got to see what is now replacing the type of silent salesman systems you describe above.

A hologram projection of a sales assistant doing demos, giving info, all gesture controlled by the customer.
It was slick in operation and working without any apparent hiccups.

Yes folks, the future is here!!

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Using the right terminology helps when searching on Google!

Some wonderful ideas out there, but like I say, we are a small family run business, so the likes of holograms etc are a bit out of our range, haha!

After having a think this last night and this AM, I'm now thinking about not linking a tablet to the screens, but having a plug & play screen, like this:

And then something like this, next to or on the counter:

Not sure if an iPad could do the above and put it on a stand like this?:

(then we can can use the iPad at home if it doesn't work well).
