Firstly I suffer from a little knowledge but not in detail.

However a previous pension has been transferred to FL BlackRock Lg Tm fund (100%) - Friends Life and performance in the last 12 months has been dire. It was performing well where it was before but the company was sold and transferred all pensions over to Friends Life.

In general my current company pension isn't particularly doing well either - separate fund and provider etc.

Meantime a very small Virgin Pension has been doing really really well, but its the smallest pot - so my money isn't working for me at the moment.

So questions;

Is it best to see a IFA - do I need to pay for that?
Should I do something radically different with my old pension, like move it into Virgin stakeholder pension?
My current employer does allow for moving funds and contributions to a pension of my choice - worth considering?

It may just to current market conditions - but ever since it got moved I was never really happy.

Any help appreciated - even if to say go to see an IFA you tight git!

Halo,

If you go and chat with an IFA, it'll be a free discussion anyway. To maximise benefit, tell him or her in advance what you want to talk about and preload him/her with your questions.
